so the ergodox has eight more keys? I'm confused. Why are they of different layout shapes tho? Are there two types of Ergodox layout?

ergodox kit has blank for modifier keys
professional kit has legend for modifier keys

that's what I see.

if you use professional kit, I think your layout will be fixed/depended on the legend of the keys.
Though they're more pretty if you don't have too much customizations.

Because the legended keycaps are manufactured via double shot injection which, even if this ABS plastic we're talking about, it's still a rather sophisticated mechanism. So it costs more than the simpler blank SA molding.
