Hey friends! Thanks for being patient while I work on getting replacements sent out. I've had to get new silver top manufactured for those that need them, and those have been received in perfect condition. I'll have most, if not all, replacements sent out by the end of the month.

Thank you for the patience and understanding of those of you affected by the damaged or missing pieces.

On a side note,  Mech27.com has launched and I am selling Panda switches there. The profit from these have gone towards resolving this situation.

Right on, 27... really good to hear that kind of update.

Not sure I ever posted my build here, but I am very happy with the way it all turned out! Board feels great and is a tank- almost as heavy as my TX-CP, which is nuts. Hope others are enjoying their Mech-27's as well. Sorry for crap photo, but you get the idea...

Ya, I Google'd, searched, read thru the whole thread.  First time I'm hearing of a round 2.

So regarding all the boards that were damaged (during shipping/manufacturing/doesnt matter) did you get replacements from 27?  Or how was that resolved.  Some of the pics I saw showed very obvious damage -- chipped corners and the like.

Then saw some really nasty posts by people w/ some microscratches (only visible from a certain angle and light) Probably join R2 when it starts, but if anyone has a Mech27 that's cosmetically damaged (but still functional) they don't want would be willing to buy it off w/ a price break depending on how bad the damge is.

Any A.87 sized PCB fits, be it the original A.87, the TX87-PCB (Kin might be out of stock though) , the GON, (the QMK compatible one I made in KiCAD but did not get made yet), etc.

27 has found a new factory for R2 and is confident in their abilities

also they're 10 minutes from where he lives (and primarily speak english), which means communication is a lot easier

Will certain colors like cyan/pink make a return? I've seen a bunch of amazing cyan builds come out of R1 that's gotten me all hyped up for R2. Regardless, I'll probably still get in on this cuz this board is awesome.

Sadly no, local place doesn't have as many colour options, and custom ones are $1000 per colour.

  Maybe? Grays are fairly difficult to do consistently, so I don't think it would come out very well.  I could look at hard anodizing in future runs/projects, which is a dark grey by default.

Yeah I'd totally love a dark hard anodized gray. I'm assuming the ballpark gray you're referring to is different than the typical titanium gray, which is a good thing! I'd totally be down for that. So long as the gray doesn't look black!

Cerakote is not possible.  There's not exactly a demand for gun customization in Ontario, so I'd have to send them off to have it done.
