It has been ordered together with the Gateron Switch GB :thumb:

I'll do my updates all on the other thread, because the items are together

GATERON HAS LANDED!

97469-0

97471-1

P.S. Shadovved is OK and rumors of his demise from carrying everything up to his place on the fourth floor are greatly exaggerated.

P.P.S. There's more that still has to be unloaded from the car.

My biggest question... does it rattle when you shake it?

50000 at least?

Wait a moment did the keycaps come also? I could meet up this weekend and relieve you of that burden (and you could relieve me of some of my discretionary funds)

Come down lor. It's not really huge, and I'll not open it.

But I might be out this weekend.

I was actually just wondering what switch stickers would look like with clear vs stock gateron tops. Do you have s pic of what they look like from the side?

It's hard to shoot from the side but I will try tomorrow. I was planning to shoot some pics to compare the spread of illiumination with LEDs.

Cool please post some pics once you get yours done.

Here's a photo of clear switches with abostudio clear tops and white stickers.

I decided to buy few so I can compare with the gaterons.

Bummed out that your Gateron clear caps aren't as, well, clear as abostudio caps? There's an inexpensive fix from the Plastic Modeling world. Oldpharts know it as 'Future'; a few years back it was rebranded as 'Pledge Floor Care with Future Shine'. What it is, is a liquid acrylic; dipping clear plastic parts in it (or airbrushing, or even handbrushing; the stuff self-levels) fills in tiny pits, scratches, and imperfections. The end result?

The left side is stock, the right side dipped once and let dry for 30 minutes. You could do two dips, giving at least four hours cure time (depending on temp and humidity) if you need to. I haven't noticed any catching or binding of the plunger; if you're concerned, a quick swipe around the plunger opening with a cotton or foam swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol will strip the coating. Best of all, it's cheap - it sells for $6/Qt in the US, which is more than enough for thousands of switch covers (or plastic models; I've used less than 10% of a bottle I bought in 2003), but if you know anyone who regularly builds plastic models, odds are they already have some you could mooch off of them borrow.

Nice find, Orgell_Evaan! I will have to pick some up at Walmart and give it a try.

Pretty sure that isn't what you want! You want it to say 'With future shine', this logo:
