bcm20730a1kfbgt bluetooth HID module
« on: Sun, 01 March 2020, 12:57:20 »
Hello I hope someone can help me.
I have this and old Bluetooth keyboard and I'm trying to find the data sheet for it but I am unable to find the correct one. I will provide some pictures to help along with links to module I've found some that look similar, but don't have the correct pin amount down the side so I' lost. I thought somebody here may know what it is????

Below are the links to some pdfs I've found but no dice
Hope the link to the picture work, let me know in comments if there is a problem.

this is the closest i think

what's the make - model of the keyboard?
what's the matter with the keyboard? what are you trying to do?
unless it's some 3rd party module like some of the stuff sparkfun or similar carry, you might be out of luck repurposing it, if that's the goal....

Hello
I don't know the make and model of the keyboard No markings on it whatsoever
The keyboard matrix does not conduct any more. :-(
I just want to transplant it into a full sized keyboard.
My issue is the full sized keyboard matrix has a wider connector for the number pad i did discover on one of the pdfs rows and coulombs but need to know what pin they are assign to.

First hit on DuckDuckGo led me to this datasheet for the BCM20730/CYW20730 series.

BTW, you can upload images directly to the forum.

if it's a membrane (rubber dome) board (which it looks like it is), best to just replace it. you can get some full size wireless membrane boards as cheap as $20

way to find out which pin.... get your meter out and do a continuity test... (with keyboard unplugged, remove battery) pick a switch pad with one trode & test the pins on the chip with the other trode to see which the trace is connected to. (if there is a connection, the meter should beep) .... that is IF you can even get to the traces/legs of the chip. if the controller is smd, the pads look like they are UNDER the chip (not sure what the other side looks like, no pics)

Does any one have any information about flashing this device.

How does UART port work can i use a arduino or a rpi to read data off this module?

most production keyboards are not programmable or re-flashable. most are limited chips that can only be flashed once during production. after that they are no longer programmable.

if you could figure out the matrix, you could hand wire switches in a plate in the same configuration and connect it to the controller in the same fashion.

truthfully, it's probably not worth your time.

Even with the most capable microcontrollers, when flashing them you can choose to set a fuse that will prevent reprogramming.
