Ok folks! Raffle entry id now over. I have a spot of work to finish up and then I'll run the RNG on the results to determine winners.

I'm excited for all of the winners, even if I am not one of them. These caps are just beautiful.

The raffle will not satisfy the masses. They are hungry and looking to your artistic ability to feed them. You must quit your life in its current form and dedicate yourself to the slavery that is manufacturing keycaps for our insatiable quest for the "end game."

Seriously though, you are sitting on a goldmine, Sir.

I figured Deep Star would be the most popular. Good odds for Europa, though! Burnished Lacquer too, I really thought it would be another top choice.

Won't say never but likely not this exact design again, no. They'll be a v2 version that will make it easier to do more accurate multishots.

I'm certainly not complaining about a free raffle, but I'm just curious: how are you picking winners?

Are you going by first colorway choice or are you randomly picking entrants and trying to give them their first choice and then going to their alternate choices?

Burnished was my first choice.  So pretty!  Plus the colorway's name evokes thought of those exalted lacquer keys I will never touch (HHKB HG).

Winners selected through a number of stages; Entry number run through RNG selection. Remove that winners caps from the overall pool. If first choices aren't available then we move to second picks and then also remove those from the pool. Rinse and repeat. Continue down the list until all the caps are connected to winners. At least that's how it's in my head ATM.

Definitely. Good luck. I hope you're a coffee drinker.

I wasn't sure because on the form, it seems there isn't actually  a way to narrow down to a second choice. It was more or less "I want Deep Star, but if I don't get it, I'll take any of the other options."

I'm actually not sure what would be easier from the two options I asked about. Either way, it's a huge time commitment.

Can't stress enough I'm not complaining. Lol. This was an incredibly kind thing for you to do for the community.

This problem could be solved programmatically with some math and stepped logic.  If you end up wanting to run future sales and need some code to make your life easier, feel free to shoot me a PM.  This seems like something that would be fun to solve over a cup of coffee.

I would think the community could benefit from generic, raffle-style drawing code, too, as an open-source project...  It would definitely be helpful if we continue to see an influx of new artisans doing raffle-style sales.

Best giveaway ever made. Couldn't be any more fair and smart. The system prevent hoarders, flippers and people will be linked to their exact choices, and this is great because it will prevent a ridiculous aftermarket from taking place, since people will love and hold to what they'll get. I'm happy and excited that this is happening this way. I just wish you had a partner to cover the list from an upside down orientation (last enters to first enters) while you keep checking it on the right orientation (first to last) until you meet halfway. It would save quite some time. Fortunately, you've got two wonderful partners helping you out. Thanks for the chance amigo, you have a wonderful crafting talent!

Something hosted sounds cool!

I've not written any python in a while so I decided to implement the basic raffle system (I mirrored Brocaps style):  https://github.com/nathanrosspowell/raffle.py
It takes two JSON files as input: the entries and your stock. There is an optional input of an item limit. The program then gives you a JSON file with your left over stock and an ordered list of who won what.

Shell orders bagged and tagged. Castles next, then invoices to follow in a couple hours.

And yes, there are a couple of orders with more than one shell - those we're folks that helped facilitate / test so they get an extra helping of soup.

That's beautiful! Must have been so much work, yet pretty exciting to almost complete your first raffle. Really awesome of you to share these creations.  Good luck everyone!
