Custom lego keycap
« on: Wed, 24 July 2013, 13:52:06 »
Someone has had to have done this before right?

I'm thinking of taking one of my extra keys, and cutting out the cherry stem + and gluing it to the bottom of a red 2x2 red lego block to have an awesome esc key, I googled it, but didnt find anything.

I figured someone would have tried it before, but since I couldn't find anything, maybe its a fail idea?

Well, I suppose I'll just have to stop by the store and pick up a small box of lego's and try this one out for myself.

Take a keycap along, so you can see what block most closely matches the cap.

Lol, unfortunately, All my lego bins ( and i know everyone says they have tons of legos, but believe me, i have tons ) are at my parents house, I honestly wanted to take them with me when I moved out, but that didn't happen. The only set I have is the lego architecture set I keep on my desk at work, though there is a lego store in the mall, and they sell individual bricks, so I may just do that next time i'm out clothes shopping.

Someone posted a couple of designs, one was a 2x2 block key, the other was a single post that would fit a minifig head on it, plus its been mentioned a few times in the 'what keycap would you like'. Not seen any actual results here yet.
