CLS-2 //65
"ECLIPSE"
THE KEYBOARD BY ORI-CLUB

After a period of working with the 2 closest 2 projects (ORI CLS-1 / ORI GENESIS),
I completely lost the entrance to countless designs, I sketch every day.
And in the end, what pleased me most was not adding new things,
but removing unnecessary ones. And this is what I think will follow me and you for many more years.
ORI CLS-2 // 65

MINIMALISTIC DESIGN - CLASSIC 65 FORM - GASKET MOUNT

There are two most important things I care about: the mount system and the sound.
Mount Systyem: I use the improved gasket mount from CLS-1, the plate is held 15% tighter.
The plate has been tweaked to be softer than the CLS-1, but not too flex.
The Sound: Half of the inner lap will be made of brass. That makes the typing echo a lot better.

There's plenty of options that don't have that feature.

That's true, but for something claiming "Function" in the title you would expect it to have at least the normal Del and Fn. You have to remove one or the other if you want to have this 910blocker style.

I must admit I couldn't stop thinking about a wrist rest after seeing the keycult's new wrist rest. (Actually, I have some ideas from before). But really, combining wood with black aluminum is just amazing.
So, ye, I've just tried one.
If everyone likes it enough, I'll make it for ORI CLS-2//65

I must admit I couldn't stop thinking about a wrist rest after seeing the keycult's new wrist rest. (Actually, I have some ideas from before). But really, combining wood with black aluminum is just amazing.
So, ye, I've just tried one.
If everyone likes it enough, I'll make it for ORI CLS-2//65

This looks nice. The bezels on the tkl were super tight. I saw that a keycap puller wouldn’t fit. There were a few other little things that needed some refinement. Has all that been addressed for this board?

Jokes aside I think this board is really nice. Would be my first ORI board too, so looking forward to that. Does the PCB support split-backspace?

Please make it with the wrist rest as a complete package.  That would be worth a lot more money to me.  I missed out on the 1st keyboard but I really hope to get in on this one.

Here is a picture of the 1/2 prototype I'm working on. Unfortunately I'm not there to take high-quality photos.
But okay, as you can see the finish compared to the CLS-1 is much better, I have to say.

And there will be some changes to the key options.

Chances are the red on the logo will not be the red of Anodized aluminum anymore, but the red of the lacquer.
The yellow color is no longer brass, and will be replaced by copper coated with emulsion gold.

Prototype is looking really good.  Are some of the tolerance issues that were seen on CLS-1 going to be addressed on CLS-2?  I think I saw in discord you’ve also changed manufacturing partners for the CNC work?

How high is the front? maybe it's deceiving, but it looks quite high, which may be why a Wrist rest is needed. Otherwise, the design looks absolutely stunning.

Wrist rest is always needed for non low profile, unless you can float your arms for hours or don't do much typing.

How high is the front? maybe it's deceiving, but it looks quite high, which may be why a Wrist rest is needed. Otherwise, the design looks absolutely stunning.

Wrist rest is always needed for non low profile, unless you can float your arms for hours or don't do much typing.
I mean technically you should float your arms for hours when doing a lot of typing. Wrist rests, while they aren't good for you if you actually rest your wrists on them, are most useful for gaming where you aren't doing tons of typing and instead holding keys. If your posture is correct and arms are at 90, desk is lower, you should be able to hover just fine with some practice.

the FE rosewood ano and all other editions are quite spectacular!

Have been following Ori and Bruce since I found out about the CLS-1 back in May/June, so when I heard that the CLS-2 was going to be in 65 I was in. Super excited for this to happen and I will be trying my hardest to have RNG on my side for this one! (Dęp quá!)

All those features do no warrant 600usd minimum, it should be 400usd max. *I would only pay 400usd max for a keyboard like this. Good luck with your IC

lmao, can you please also justify this?

The balance edition has two brass weights as well a brass logo. The architecture of the mounting and the general design are also high-quality (no simple gasket strips).

Would love to see some data/proof from you that would justify that this could be sold for $400 at this ~80 unit count.

Hello everyone, a little update from GB of ORI CLS-2

The first batch, including the first 10 kits, are ready for QC and ship immediately after the logo is inlaid with gold leaf.
Let's take a look.

I was so disappointed not to win either the Ori-1 or Ori CLS-2 GB place.  Looks superb ORI, very well done.
