Realforce 87s in stock @ Korean Leopold site
« on: Fri, 29 July 2011, 03:51:21 »
I was thinking about buying a topre after going through all the mechanical keyboards
(I like BS and Rubber dome a lot so a combination of both sounded fantastic for me)
and I found out that all the new realforce models they sell are variable weighted models!?

I have no idea why they stopped making the uniform weighted 87s.... and I was quite disappointed
but after some searching I found out that the Korean Leopold site is selling the uniform weighted Realforce 87s!!

Here are the links:

White Realforce87 55g Uniform Weight English version
http://www.leopold.co.kr/?doc=cart/item.php&it_id=1237266360

Black Realforce87 55g Uniform Weight English version
http://www.leopold.co.kr/?doc=cart/item.php&it_id=1259715970

they are going for 360,000 Won which costs about $341

I think I'm going to buying one since I'm going back to Korea for a few weeks (sadly, they don't ship internationally)
and I might be doing a group buy if anyone else is still interested in purchasing a 87
but they said that they don't have a lot in stock... so I'm not even sure If I would be able to get one :hurt:

I have just been told the white 55g is not available.
Iomania can get the black 87U and it costs over $400 USD.

I really wish they come back in stock on EK... if I'm  lucky I might be able to pick one up.....

Does variable weights feel really weird compared to uniform weights???
and how heavy are 45g/55g compared to Model M or other Cherry Switches?

I enjoy typing on the variable. I think they are more suitable for typing.
I find it comfortable for gaming too, though uniform would be better for that.
I prefer the feel of the 45g Topre for gaming, as I find it easier to double tap them compared to the 55g.
The 55g is similar to the clears, except topre 55g is not mushy at the bottom and actuates a tad earlier.
Buckling sping advocates usually enjoy typing on the 55g Topre as well.
Cherry switches usually have some kind of annoying friction what I absolutely dislike.

Not the linears though (blacks, reds) right?

I feel them in the linears. Topre absolutely lacks this.
I think a little bit of lube job would solve this, as I really like linear Cherry switches for both gaming and typing.

Well, I don't if you have any chance to know if this keyboard pass FCC Test?

I am now looking for the FCC forum for this keyboard, bad luck...
Look for Keyboard? Check my offers. I have most major keyboard and some caps for you, if you don\'t see it there, ask me. I am Top rated seller on eBay now, and have retail store in China selling keyboard and other gaming staffs.

It probably never passed FCC.  I had mine sent to me in a cardboard box filled with Tokyo newspapers.

FCC testing is a PITA.  You grab your equipment and take it to some bearded grizzly guy in a shack in the mountains.

Although we, people of CANADIA, enjoy these kind of activities. I know I do.
