$40 for shipping? LOL, ...
do you have any amount of certainty as to the eta of two months? i.e. how likely is it that the case will arrive in july/august? i only ask because i'm not going to be in the country after august LOL
Just wanted to double check, so if we filled out the IC form then we are already in this buy? If so do you mind reminding me what my selections were?

Unfortunately there aren't other options available here. :( China Post would cut down on shipping by quite a bit, but there's the delivery time of 3-4 weeks, and I can't trust it for international shipments with something of this scale.
@ideus
If you'd like, please go to DHL's shipping calculator (http://hkapps.dhl.com.hk/eng_rc/eng_rc_DefPage.html?Service_Type=WPX) and input the dimensions 35cm x 20cm x 9cm, with a weight of 2.5kg, to the country of your residence. The result may surprise you. ;)
I have a couple of examples whose shipping costs from Asia to America were under $40: QTan ships small keyboards from China worldwide for $24 USD, in my case he used FedEx to ship an FC660M, it was delivered in a week. In other case GON sent me a PCB, some diodes, stabs and an acrylic case for $28, I think he is in Korea; but, it is not my intention to create a controversy, nor affect this thread, if the OP does not have better options for shipping and buyers are agreeable then everything is fine.

Not Lunaris and also not trying to start anything here, but just thought I would offer a potential explanation as to why the shipping is what it is in comparison to the examples you provided.
Main reason would be the weight. All international shipping is calculated by weight, and since this is an aluminum case, that means this sucker is heavy. The weight Lunaris mentioned is 2.5kg (~5.5 lbs) which sounds about right for an aluminum case + all the other add-ons (PCBs, etc.). For the examples you mentioned, mechanicalkeyboard.com lists the FC660M as 1.6 lbs. Weighing my own GON 60% Acrylic Case, it weighs in at about .8 lbs. Adding on PCB, Diodes, etc., I think it would be a fair assumption to say that the GON might've been somewhere around 1-1.5lbs.
Getting a quote from FedEx and DHL from their website, the calculated costs from both are pretty much double what Lunaris is asking ($70-$90 from the numbers Lunaris provided to the US). Shipping to the US in this group buy is $33, so for $5 more ($9 for international) considering the weight of this case, it's not that bitter of a pill to swallow (Ok, it still sucks, but it's not $70-$90 bitter heh :D ).
Hope that provides you some potential further insight as to why the shipping costs are as expensive as they are. :thumb:

I don't think we can get the BT PCB in this gb already. Or at least I think I remember him saying something like that.
I know man. I am just curious. I dropped off of this GB, but I might be interested later if the PCB is compatible with any 60%
I know man. I am just curious. I dropped off of this GB, but I might be interested later if the PCB is compatible with any 60%
It is unsure whether the PCB will be manufactured specifically for TriC or maximum compatibility with preexisting 60% cases. Likely the latter to maximize the market coverage and because TriC already has universal screw mounting holes.
I caved.

Yes.
is it the same plate in the photos in your album? also, do you have any examples of what the tiffany blue might look like at all besides just the mockup? if not, that's cool

Yes, because of Stripe's processing fees. :( I said it in the international order form.
"With Stripe, there will be a 2.9% + $0.30 fee, calculated already within the linked website."
Sucks that it has to happen; they don't think it be like it is.
have you gotten any color samples? ;D

Same old news. Me pushing for production and factory sitting on their butts doing who knows what. I'll update when I get word on what's up.
Which pcbs/plates are compatible with this case? I didn't grab one because I was waiting for the BT pcb to come out, any word on that?
any update? i'm getting really antsy. it looks more and more like this board won't arrive before i have to leave

I'm getting pretty antsy too, but LD said he'd update us if there was anything new. All we can do is wait :'( :'(

Is it a revision of the legit GH60 or are we looking at a BT Satan? Either one is fine, just curious :D :D
am i able to change my pcb to a bluetooth one at this point or is it too late?
Any word on this? What about the question as to BT? Even just a check-in would be appreciated, thanks LD!
Sorry guys, delays still persist. The designer told me on the 11th that the cases are being sent back to the factory for not being of satisfactory quality for selling abroad.
I don't know why that was not done sooner (or from the beginning). It honestly sounds like an excuse to justify the delays, but there's not much I can do but to ask you all to continue bearing with me on this as we wait for this project to draw its conclusion.
The BT PCB is in development but the ETA on that is literally whenever. The guy's not actively pursuing it to completion but working on several projects at the same time.

Cases are being anodized. Details (acrylic layer, screws, feet, etc) are being worked out in preparation for shipping. I have a batch of PCBs in the U.S. but I don't think they'll be enough so I'm ordering some more on this side. My inventory count is inaccurate since I'm not stateside to check. I believe we're nearing the home stretch, for real this time.
I believe we're nearing the home stretch, for real this time.Plis be right, my little heart can't take any more :'( :'(
I'd have loved a 5mm acrylic plate, but I don't know where to source one :(
Well, hopefully Sprit will be back in time. I'll probably just go with the one ordered in this buy.
Thanks for the update Lunaris. Although it's delayed quite a bit, your open communication makes this GB worthwile. Thanks a lot for your effort.
I didn't order one from him, but I still believe that he doesn't want to scam people. He'd be the worst scammer of all time, comeing back, shipping some old GB-Orders, engineers some Alps springs, gifts them to random people for free and then leaves again?
Doesn't sound right to me, although I understand the anger a lot of people have towards him perfectly well. Mistakes have been made and are currently made. But I still don't believe it's intentional. I just hope he gets R1&2 done at some point. Because hands down, his stuff is top-notch and it'd be a huge win for the community, if he would be back 100% and redeemed himself.
Well anyway, I don't believe this belongs here. If you know of a place to get 5mm plates, please let me know :D. After having it tried on a WKL-Board, I can't live without anymore.
Luckyly this case isn't for me, but my father-in-law, so alu plate is fine ;D

Been a while since the last update (3 weeks?) - anything new LD?
TriC's production history is as follows, AFAIK:
Initial batch - a GB w/ a little over 10 were made, and I purchased mine from it. Organized and fulfilled by the designer.
Second batch - a GB run through Baiyang. Fulfilled by Baiyang.
Third batch - this GB run by me. Only just now shipped from factory, and en route to the designer. Will be fulfilled by the designer.
Fourth batch - ordered by Baiyang but not as a GB. He ordered some of each (except orange, which is said to be discontinued as the color was too difficult to anodize properly) to sell on his storefront. This is probably what you got, Cotay.
The reason given to me by the designer (and HolyOOPs who handled the production and anodizing) for the delay is that the batch that was ordered by me was mostly scrapped due to quality issues. This does not explain how Baiyang got his well before my own.
There's definitive word now. It won't be long before you all get what you paid for. I'm sorry it took so long.
A PM on here or reddit is still the best way to reach me. Slack is faster, but conversation gets wiped after 10k total messages which makes it hard to keep track of things.
Just wanted to say thanks once again for the open communication, although the delays suck, I still feel like my money is in good hands. Just sucks my Father in law will probably be out of country once the case gets here tough :-X.
I was able to get my Tric built this weekend. All I can say is that it is worth the wait; this is the nicest housing I've ever seen. I only wish I had a BT module and battery to put in this.

Nice! By chance do you know the radial size of the corner cuts of that plate? I had a custom one made and I picked 2.5mm--your build looks so flush that I'm now a tad concerned, hehe.

I was actually hoping for one of the more neutral colors. Thanks for the offer though! :thumb:

I just hauled the entire order of TriC half a kilometer and up 6 flights of stairs.
A bit boned right now but optimistic. Gonna open the package up after I grab a bite to eat, with pics to come.
As for the orange case - please gimme a bit of time to sort and tally what I've got to make sure everything that's supposed to be here, is here.

Do you want it shipped to you in China? Or do you have someone who can accept the package at the original address?
If the BT pcb groupbuy doesn't end up happening does anyone know of an alternate BT pcb that would work with this?
Oh right. Not that I'm aware of unfortunately. ANNE PRO has a very nice feature-rich PCB but the mounting holes are off and our scale of orders wouldn't be nearly enough to convince Obins to do a redesign and manufacture just the PCBs and BT modules.
The GH60 BLE group is essentially inactive. I don't think much will come of it in the foreseeable future. :|
Alright, in that case I'll probably just look to find a "b.fake" pcb somewhere and just use it wired. In fact I'll probably end up selling my actual b.face since I like this case much better.
I do have them offered with the buy and also have a couple extras. Hit me w/ a PM if that strikes yer fancy. ^-^
Are you offering Bface or Bfake? Is the only difference that one isn't actually made my winkeyless, like do they use the same software? He's offering the unofficial one. They do use the same software.

I have the fake one in one of my boards and I haven't noticed any difference at all, except lunarisdream said this pcb is going to be either white or black, whereas the real ones are always white. Are you offering Bface or Bfake? Is there really any difference other than who makes them? Are the pcbs comparable to other products where the "off brand" might be inferior?
I just received my second Tric from Taobao (in red this time). I can't wait for you guys to start getting yours.Good to know. Thanks!
One thing to watch out for is not to over tighten the silver screws that secure the top part of the case. The case threads strip easily if you apply too much torque. If you do manage to strip one, wrap a little bit of latex plumbing tape around the screw and it'll be fine. These screws don't need a lot of torque, just lightly hand tighten. Only make a quarter turn at most past hand tight.

You used silver screws for the case? Odd. For my orange case, I used the black screws for the case, silver screws for the pcb, and the flat silver screws for the weight. My first impulse was to try the silver screws for the case, but found that they were too fat for the threads. The black screws fit perfectly and there were the perfect amount too. Do they have different screws for different colors?

Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.
Just got mine. On phone, so I'll keep it short. You have me excited :). Was there any tracking information? I guess I'm waiting on Mod switches from Originative anyways haha.
Anodizing looks very nice, although I thought titanium grey would be a little darker.
Diffuser has some minor cracks, but when assembled they are invisible.
Screwdriver didn't fit the PCB screws, was a little too large.
PCB LEDs work, didn't check switches.
5mm acrylic plate from Sprit fits just fine and looks absolutely great.
Really like the idea to make the feet height customizeable.
Can't wait to finally build this, all I need now are the MX whites from Sennin. Hopefulyll they'll arrive before christmas, then I can build the damn thing in time :)
Thanks for your work Lunaris. Although there were some delays, it was still worth it.

UGH does anybody have any guides for the b.fake pcb included in this gb? i can't get mine to flash firmware that works with the official wkl bootmapper client and every time i plug in my pcb, it seems to hold down rctrl and the backslash/pipe key. my soldering isn't the issue, and i just swapped out the backslash key because i thought it might have been chattering, but no luck fixing the issue.Just checking, have you step 3 in this guide?http://blog.winkeyless.kr/183
i'll check this out when i get home... thanks for the response. any idea about the backslash? because that seems like more of a hardware issue than a software issue, and i have no clue how to check the actual hardware outside visually inspecting my solder job (which looks fine)UGH does anybody have any guides for the b.fake pcb included in this gb? i can't get mine to flash firmware that works with the official wkl bootmapper client and every time i plug in my pcb, it seems to hold down rctrl and the backslash/pipe key. my soldering isn't the issue, and i just swapped out the backslash key because i thought it might have been chattering, but no luck fixing the issue.Just checking, have you step 3 in this guide?http://blog.winkeyless.kr/183
Primarily the part about holding left ctrl as you plug it in to start it in bootloader mode.

finally got around to doing this and realized i've done it before. what's odd is that when i do end up doing this and plugging in the keyboard, "uploading" the firmware does nothing, and the left control (left ctrl is the key being held down by some invisible force, not right ctrl; my apologies) is still being held down. the backslash/pipe key aren't displaying any characters when i'm inside of any text input area, but when i go to microsoft's ghosting demonstration, it shows the backslash/pipe key as the only key being held down and doesn't register any other keys when depressed. additionally, unplugging the keyboard from the computer seems to continue holding down the left control, as typing any character brings up the ctrl+respective key combo rather than the character i mean to type. i have to reboot my pc before i'm able to use any other keyboard/scroll wheel without my computer behaving like the ctrl key is being pressed.
i may end up posting this in the keyboards subforum to keep from spamming up this group buy, but i'm mostly afraid that it's a defective pcb.

Hey dude - saw your comments just now. If it is a defective PCB, I have spares and will swap the switches from the old one to the new one free of charge, and cover shipping both ways. This will have to wait until after I'm back in the US I'm afraid, but that's not far off - I'll be back on the 18th of this month.
As for now, I've sent an inquiry to the guy who sold me those PCBs, asking for his input on the matter.

Do you still offer assembly services? If so, would you be available to do so while you're in the US?
me too, interested with the case as well, still possible to get one?
bummer, such a nice looking case without excess glow. wonder why it's not a common GB.me too, interested with the case as well, still possible to get one?
I ended up ordering B Stock (damaged item from the first round). It's getting re-anodized so I don't know how banged up it actually is. Pretty excited though!

I received my b-stock case the other day. I ordered an all black case but received a black top piece, and a red bottom piece. Anyone missing a red bottom?
