newbie reporting in. i used a matias tactile pro back in the day and missed it ever since having to switch away, so i started looking into mechanical keyboards again and that of course brought me here! i just posted some pics up in the media section, let me know what you think.

they're both great, but the matias was quite a bit quieter if i remember right. i had to get rid of it because of the white keys and transparent case. things got pretty gross looking after awhile. :P

when i went looking for a mech kb this time around, i wanted something tenkeyless and not too pricey. so the cm qf rapid seemed like a good choice.

Welcome to Geekhack!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks! I loved the Matias, but will probably never buy a keyboard with white keys (or a transparent shell) again. I'm happy to see their new Quiet Pro using a black and silver color scheme.
