[IC] GMK Eclipse
« on: Tue, 19 February 2019, 13:10:29 »
Hello geekhackers,

as i mentioned in previous ICs of mine i will rerun Eclipse one day. So here it is. GMK Eclipse will drop in the near future on Massdrop. The colors didn't changed and are still the same as in the first IC. The colors are: light blue from GMK Yuri, a mid blue custom color close to RAL 5000 and of course the standard GMK color N9 which is really nice dark gray in my opinion. I still have to match the mid blue like i envisioned it.

Base kit

Numpad

40 Percent

Accents & Novelties

Spacebars

Renders by Oblotzky

So if you are interested in GMK Eclipse and you have some constructive feedback then please reply below. Thanks ;)

Can't wait! Went in on the first GB and was disappointed that it never made MOQ.  Hopefully being on MD will give it the necessary exposure.

Great stuff as always t0m!

Can we have ISO (just 4 keys). What´s the struggle with ISO? Are you talking about norde sets (which i use, but theyre always overpriced so dont even like norde kits).
Im sure if you made separate kits for stuff like 1.5u super, meta or 2u 0, they would struggle.

If you feel the need to trim fat, just remove stuff like 1.5u super, meta or 2u 0.

He already trimmed the fat and removed ISO :thumb:

Glad to see this set make a comeback, I was sad when it didn't make it the first time. A shame the accent/novelty keys proposed the first time around don't seem to be returning though, they were one of the best parts of the set.

I am sorry but this not what i want to do. I would add ISO only to flashy/popular keysets like Carbon but in this one i want lowest price as possible.

There will be an extra kit with accent keys, smaller spacebars and the moon novelty. ;)

Beautiful looking set, I'm very interested! How different are the colors from Space Cadet?

Space Cadet has a gorgeous blue color. Eclipse has an mid tone off blue color. Its little bit 'milky' i would say and has very small purple tonality. Just look up for RAL 5000 color.

This looks like it would be a great kit on its own, or paired with the GMK White on Black kit. Grey alphas and black mods for me!
But this is awesome and I'll likely buy it. Count me interested.

It doesn't even have to be "UK ISO" or whatever. Four keys is all that's needed to do ISO support.  :(

Thus i am not including any ISO keys, because they always do struggle in very popular sets and in this one they don't have a slight chance to become reality.
Add the keys to the base kit and this problem is solved.

Looking at Jamón’s numbers so far shows how many people are interested in having the numpad kit attached to the base kit and also that a 40’s kit can hit MoQ. So my suggestion would be to make the numpad separate to help lower price and to offer a Jamón type 40s kit.

I second the call for a 40% kit. There are at least four 40% boards currently in GB, all needing to be covered by a beautiful keyset like this.

A lovely set, possibly interested.  Just curious, i'm in the UK and previous Massdrop buys have incurred the typically exorbitant import fee (about a 3rd of the cost of the item), BUT i see that you are in Germany.  Will you be shipping these from there or from Massdrop HQ in U.S?  Kind of a deciding factor me at least.  Thanks

Do you understand why Europeans don't want to buy stuff from massdrop? We have to pay 21%+13 euros here in The Netherlands for everything coming from outside of the EU. I believe it's 19%+6 euros in Germany. If something goes wrong, which kind of happens often with massdrop, they declare the full amount of the keyset on the package when they send a replacement so we can pay the tax on the entire order again. So a set really has to be worth it for us to get it from massdrop, otherwise we'll just wait until it hits mechmarket.

I joined this the first time it ran and was really sad to see it not reach MOQ, going with massdrop will certainly make it easier to reach but also guarantees extra fees for me (duties, shipping, etc.). Because of that I can't guarantee my participation atm. The 'purple' accent keys really made this set for me the first time I saw it, I'd like to see them make a return here!

R1 Del-End-PgDn seem to belong in the numpad kid as opposed to the base kit seeing as those are typically only used with 1800 layouts which naturally require a numpad. I didn’t follow the Jamón IC/GB so maybe they have a reason for including them, but to me they don’t seem to have a place in a base kit that’s designed for TKL and smaller only.

Edit: Digging the accents and novelties!

Well yes you are right actually. I will look into it.

Love the new updates, any possibility of all orange mod kit to cover for TKL and Numpad? Even if the price is high for small MOQ (say 50), I will pay, I am sure there are atleast 50 of orangephiles in community.
I ordered Beezarre kit in Carbon R2, would love to complete an all orange set.
