Hello Everyone! I’d like to introduce you to GMK Noire

I am lucky enough to build keyboards and make content as my full time job, which means I wind up seeing and playing with a ton of boards. But I always felt like I never had a real workhorse set- something that would let the keyboard do the talking but also could make more plain boards look amazing. Something that would look great on most colors of boards without being black and white. A not boring minimal set. So I made Noire!
The Color Palette

These colors were chosen to go with most common board colors, but not be Black and White. I also wanted to avoid the kind of grunge-y feeling that some of the other, non black and white sets tend to have and just have a really clean, but not boring set. In order to avoid the accent color looking gray or greige at all, I spent a long time finding the perfect creamy beige that wouldn’t look white against the black, but would also keep the set feeling clean and classy. I’m pretty happy with the results!
Kitting
Base Kit

I wanted to keep the kitting simple and user friendly, so we are offering a base kit with a reasonable amount of support for common layouts. If we ever run this again, I will consider extensions kits and the like.
Novelties

I really wanted to make sure that we had novelties that still felt minimal, but elevated the set for when your board needs a little extra. I worked for a very long time with the incredible Nephlock of GMK Metropolis fame to bring these to life, and I truly feel they are what makes this set something special. We took nods from Mid Century and Minimalist Art, along with Nephlock’s own unique style to make novelties that fit with what this set is: minimal, but not boring.

Deskmats will be standard 900x400mm size, 4mm thick, stitched edge.

GMK Erion when?
Just to be clear: Noire is ace, will be getting two. Just can’t help thinking that “Erion” would also be an insta-buy. This set nails it. Among the best novelties I’ve seen, would take them in a wide swatch of Eames colors.

I would hide it in plain sight, by placing the word in either of two good spots at about the left third of de theskmat.
Also, hide the word "gasp" in the same manner.

Nines is n9 (grey) and u9 (greige). This is a black base (cr) with a creamy beige (ral 1013). In terms of minimal sets, they couldn't be much more different. There will be no grey in this whatsoever, and the tone of the accents will be entirely different, with this being much more cream.

I am 100% in this if you do a light version in the future. Not a huge fan of dark keycap sets. But I respect the hell out of the effort. Those novelties have painstaking detail in them. Major props.

Absolutely. Gmks tolerances were something we payed very close attention to, and we actually went through several iterations of these novelties to find something that would be well within those tolerances and still give the look we wanted.
