Title: [IC] GMK Set (SA)
Post by: romevi on Mon, 10 July 2017, 14:48:52: Thinking about doing a GMK set. Not sure what. Maybe something colorful; maybe not.

Definitely gotta be GMK, though. Can't get enough GMK.

Edit:
Many people have requested GMK sets in SA profile. Shouldn't bee too difficult, methinks. I'll have GMK set that up.

I'm adding modern 1800 compatibility. Thinking of calling it the Giorgio Bambino Set. Shouldn't be too difficult. Numbers will add up themselves.
Maybe I'll include some novelties within that set and call them "Giovanni Giorgio," but everyone can call them "Giorgio."

Post by: romevi on Mon, 10 July 2017, 17:15:50: Thanks for all your interest so far, everyone. Keep them coming; it's a WIP developed by the community but developed by me alone.

So far I'm considering:
- side legends on all four sides
- secondary and tertiary legends on the top; will see if GMK can do underneath the cap
- icon mods only
- I will see if GMK can do bar with scoops

Was considering breaking it up. Not sure if I should do child packs or all big, mix-and-match sets. Maybe child packs for child packs? Grandchild packs?

Regarding centered legends: heck yes. I'm sick of all those dumb top-left legends with that stupid Helvetica-Comic Sans-mix typeface. I will make sure GMK makes a new typeface or I'll rip them a new one.

Heck, why not just make it triple-shot while we're at it! Also, let's have everything in that convex spacebar profile. Surely GMK has molds for all of those, no doubt about it.

Clearly you don't use scoops and don't know what you're talking about, if you did you'd realize that scoops are at least 17.83% more efficient for typing speed. But this is a stupid discussion and moot, any forward thinking keyset should include plain profile (non)homing keys. This is a deal breaker, I'm out.

Side print is only supported on led-windowed keycaps. So we require all keys to support led window. This is good though so we can see all our RGB backlight. Thus, this set will only be supported on rgb backlight pcbs.

Amazon is too corporate for me. Don't want to put more money in Bezos' wallet (digital or physical).

I’m glad to hear the new plan! Sounds like a trend around here.

But the thought of buying all my new GMK sets off of Amazon with free two day shipping seems like the next logical step as a community.

The colors will be correct. If it doesn't appear as such it means your monitor isn't/wasn't calibrated.

Dude, you're definitely thinking of SA Set (GMK). That set never even came out anyway, the runners kept delaying it and telling us they needed more money every few months until we became suspicious after 5-6 years when they had raised $4.6 million and started up MassDrop.

btw hope this set runs on MD

Sorry, but not entirely true. While I definitely have some personal stuff going on (I'm personally inept), I'm still going to have this out by the end of the specified year at the very latest. I'm going to have these made in Germany, shipped to America, inspected in Mexico, then exported to Canada for shipment. These aren't going to be sorted, either, and I haven't...sorted...that out yet. I'm going to have to charge everyone for all the importation fees, even if they happen years later.
