- Hi guys, I'm catweewee. This is a little project I have been working on from July 2016 from the design stage until September when it started manufacturing. It is also the very first keyboard that I've designed and of course with much appreciated help from Yuktsi TGR, Juahenza and Pwner ION
Now, some details about the SINGA and the concept.
SINGA is Lion in the malay language, which is where I'm from. Regal and magestic. Something what I’d like SINGA to be

- The SINGA comes with a dual brass weight for heft. The LION brass weight is connected to an inner brass bar inside
- Custom SINGA PCB by TGR (Winkeyless Bootmapper software)
- Plates come in either brass or aluminium. Plates are all CNCed instead of laser cut, which makes it sturdier and gives a much cleaner cut
- 8 Degree Angle
- Approximately 2 KG weight without caps
- Each individual SINGA is hand polished to ensure a better quality anode.

SINGA R2
SINGA R2 will differ from R1 with the following:
- SS Lion Weight, SS inner weight, Brass plates and Alu plates in the new colours
- 6 colours: Burnt Orange, Sailor Navy, Champagne Gold, Jet Purple, Velvet (from r1) and Black (from r1)
- WK and WKL options.
- Limited to 55 units, FCFS Store Purchase. Once all 55 slots are taken and paid for, ordering will end and production will start.

- 25/2 R2 will have both blocked and non blocked tops :)
- 25/2 Champagne and Navy Blue prototypes currently made. GB might start earlier, in mid or end March.
- 28/3 Prototypes in :) Waiting for Colourchips and GB will start. 2nd week of April?
- Pricing: Alu kit: 376 USD, Brass Plate: 388 USD, with PCB, fees INCLUDED (4.4%+0.3). Slight price change due to currency exchange.

Yes the lion brass weight is the main feature of the board. Singa actually means LION in my language :)

yup you got it, it would be an entire diferent board, and the pcbs, plate would need a redesign.

I like how the red for this case seems darker than some of the other red cases I've seen. The lion looks really good too. If I was into 75% this would be an instant buy. Good luck with getting R2 started.
Haha yes, most red boards are really bright. Dark reds are much easier to match most keysets as well.

I'm curious how a CNC'd plate is more sturdy than laser cut. Could you clarify?
Sorry sturdier would be the wrong word. It makes a cleaner cut, and if you have a thicker plate, less flex so this is where i guess you can sturdier. Laser cutting done wrong can make edges not straight etc.

Singa is mostly normal 75 with bottom row blockers. F-row is standard 75.

The English language name Singapore comes from its Malay name Singapura, which is derived from Sanskrit meaning "Lion City". Singa comes from the Sanskrit word siṃha (सिंह), which means "lion", and pūra (पुर) means "city" in Sanskrit and is a common suffix in many Indian place names.

Plum accents is correct, but they're not RO1
I see now. Plum is #9c1a22 custom hex color. Anyone have burgundy and plum that can show a side by side of their reds?

hi!, actually no, I feel its kinda overdone, and also most importantly, it won't really match the theme and the design of the board.
The most important feature of the board is the sides and the Lion weight, I feel adding an underglow would just make it kinda tacky.

Only SS, unfortunately. Because r2 are all dark colours, SS would match perfectly. I want R1 and R2 to be different from each other, each with its own charm yet keeping the main feature which is the lion weight :). I didnt want to make the exact same copy of R1.
Hope youll still join tho! Renders and a prototype will come soon, maybe that will change your mind :)

I'm sorry :( during R1 when I offered both choices, the numbers for each version dictated the overall cost. Theres also one important thing, when anodizing, the volume/shape plays a factor in producing an even colour. So if you have 2 differing 'shapes', anodizing can go slightly off. This is what I learnt during R1.
I want to prioritize quality. Hope that make sense.

Aw dont say that! I hope my renders and prototype will change your mind. But yes the red will remain. Its a gorgeous colour. The SS weight and plate will be sandblasted and TBH they're much more durable and won't dirty as easy. Brass will always patina.

In the end, SS is only a little lighter than brass .. won't make mucb of a difference weight wise.

The reason I wanted to change to SS, was to make a difference to R2, and R2 buyers having something of their own while R1 buyers have something of their own.
By offering brass lions in r2, it'll feel like an overlap. The colours I chosen for R2 are also best matched with SS.

Yeah Duy, it helps with QC and when youre anodizing, having only one top design helps with getting a better and even anode, when they are anodized together with the bottoms.

WKL only is a real bummer, I would love to get singa, but missing an essential key to the work flow just doesn't do it for me.
I am not too bummed about the actual winkey, as I usually map that to capslock and use 7u bottom row without winkeys, but my grievance is more to do with the fact that on a WKL blocked 75%, you have to pick between Right Ctrl and Alt Gr, not both, and as I make use of US-International keymap which places a lot of stuff on the Alt Gr layer, losing that is a bummer!
just map it into the top right, that's what i do

i usually go for printscreen, since i use sharex and have the capture bound to shift+F1
i'd rather have my winkey out of the way

Hi colour chips are coming in. Not the same violet blue as r1. Rather a deep jet purple like below

The variance is due to the finishing. Colour chips dont get finishing,

No one uses it that much anymore. I remember some of the old programming languages tried to enforce certain coding styles as the use of capital letters for the reserved identifiers :) We are very fortunate nowadays.

Keyboard quality is fantastic. Everything fits very well together. Only thing I dislike is the sound of the keyboard but that's okay since I'm enjoying typing on it thus far.
What about the sound do you dislike, specifically?
Also - any and all photos videos of the build and all angles are always appreciated! ;)

Yes, photos when I can get my hands on a nice camera ;), but to address your question, the bottom piece and the pcb is a very low clearance, so most of the sound isn't able to reverberate properly like on some other keyboards I own (Mech27, Duck Viper, even my Weaven). The result is that the keyboard isn't very deep pitched. I can mostly hear the clacking the keys, and the spacebar is extra loud as a result. This could also be because of the brass plate that I am using.
If I get my hands on some shelf liner, I'll be sure to put it under to see if the sound changes.

I totally understand making each round a little different, but I think the gold lion needs to be the standard... I would killllllll for the brass lion in R2.
Yeah, it's making me doubt my decision to go with Velvet since it'd be perfect with a brass lion, as would the Jet Purple. Navy works well with with the SS but I've already got a Navy case. Decisions, decisions...

As for shipping, I've thought about it and decided to do separate shipping orders which is similar to invoicing shipping separately but through the store. There will be instructions on how to do this on the product page.
1. Once R2 is nearing production completion, shipping will be available to order as products in the Shipping product category.
2. This gives better accurate shipping quotes through my shipper.
3. When Shipping is open to order, please put your order number in the Remarks/Comments section.
Prices have been altered to include PP fees as well :)

Thanks for the update! Can you expand on exactly how this is going to work with the 50 or so slots (or however many there are)? Is it going to be a FCFS immediately once the GB thread pops up or will we get an exact date/time when that form goes live?
