Hello!

I'm a long time Model M coveter who finally bit the bullet. I've just finished cleaning up a 1986 Model M terminal board. I've built a Soarer's Converter in an external box. It will be used to fill my need for dozens of function keys at work (in a noisy open-plan office where it hopefully won't be noticed).

Evidently it had been cleaned externally by the seller, when it arrived it was sparkling and even smelled clean. Unfortunately the innards were covered in a thick layer of sticky brown cigarette tar. I managed to stretch the spring on the PF3 key when I caught it with a fingernail, awaiting replacements in the post.

Welcome! It makes me feel inadequate that on your first post, you've mentioned building a Soarer's Converter, when I still have yet to do so...
