The Interest Check - A History
Part 1 of the Interest Check
The initial interest check was to find out colour schemes that everyone liked. We had a total of 126 votes and 11,500 switches pledged. Which is good but we can do better! For custom colouring we need to meet an MOQ of 20,000 switches!

Part 2 of the Interest Check
The second part of the interest check was to narrow down the colour selection to three options. We had a total of 184 votes and 20,810 switches pledged. With this part of the IC only being up for 2 weeks this is an amazing outcome.

Results of the colour choice…

Option 1: BLUE // PINK       49 Votes   26.6%
Option 2: GREY // VIOLET      42 Votes   22.8%
Option 3: WHITE // WHITE   93 Votes   50.5%

It is obviously a clear winner for the Ghost switch!

Pricing
To help us reach this MOQ I have negotiated a better price with Durock. I will be able to charge USD $0.60 (GBP £0.47) per switch, instead of the original price of USD $0.70 (GBP £0.54).

I will also be offering FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING on all orders of 200 switches or more, this proved popular for my recent Koala GB. I hope people will use this offer to purchase 200 switches instead of 110. Which will help us reach the MOQ. Timeline
I am going to run this group buy for only 3 weeks as opposed to 5 weeks like my last few group buys. My recent group buys have had a lot of activity at the start and end with not much in the middle. So I am going to see if this is just a waste of time. My reasoning being that if we can get 20,000 switches in 2 weeks of an interest check I am confident we can hit MOQ in 3 weeks of a running Group Buy.

I can't imagine how these could improve over MX silent reds or healios/rosealios/etc but then I thought the same about T1s vs Zealios / HPs / etc and they turned out to be my favourite tactile MX switch. Excited to see how these turn out

They will be closer to the render. The rose/pink stem are from samples and I believed durock sent the samples using Silent Alpaca stems to save on changing colours.

Three differences to the Silent Alpaca switches.

1) Colour
2) spring weight, 67g vs 62g
3) These will not be factory lubed which make them easier to lube as you don't have to clean off the gunk from the factory as their factory lube is not overly good.

Now that this post has been approved. A small update. We had great sales in the first few days!

Stickers will be shipped at the same time as the group buy. If you bought together they will be in the same parcel.

The free shipping should just be Standard shipping not tracked. Since tracked is nearly double the cost. Sorry!

EDIT: Can I ask what country you ordered from so I can debug? I can't replicate it.

At the moment my timeline takes into account the latest information I have from Durock. Obviously if the outbreak gets worse and the factories are shut down for longer than currently planned the lead time will be extended. I will keep everyone updated on this thread should that happen.

Hey, are you the one who runs the website too? I emailed the contact address on my Paypal receipt about the fact that I don’t seem to have gotten any order confirmation email, but I haven’t see any response yet either. Kind of worries there’s a problem with my email from that website/domain or something. The money has been drawn from my account but I wasn’t registered on the website so I can see my past orders and I got no confirmation beyond a PayPal transaction receipt.

Some sad news ahead ...
I have just heard back from Durock and can confirm that we will not be shipping in early May. Production has been severely delayed, partly due to lack of workers available and also lack of materials in the supply chain due to Covid-19. I appreciate your understanding with this, and I will keep you informed every step of the way and let you all know as soon as I know more. As it stands Durock have not given me a knew ETA and have only said that the previous estimation will not be met.

To be fair, I think H1 was in the pipeline way earlier than Ghost. Plus silent switches need the extra dampening parts.

PrimeKB has a Silent Alpacas preorder coming up soon, for which they'll place the order on July 6, with the switches tentatively expected to arrive on September (but you know, global pandemic). I wonder if Durock will consolidate the manufacturing of those switches with these ones, seeing that they use the same parts (but different color and springs).

Just received word that the switches will enter production at the start of this coming week. After that they will enter into manual inspection and switch assembly. At which point they will be shipped to me. We are currently estimating arrival to me by end of September, all going well.

Just received the tracking information for the switches, they are on their way to me via DHL Express, estimated arrival by end of day 29th September. I'll start packing them as soon as they arrive.

At the time the GB closed I ordered 6,000 extras which is a little over 12% of the GB orders. I thought that would be plenty, they all sold out in July.

There is potentially 1-2k in production overrun just waiting on Durock to let me know how many so that I can buy them, if there are less than 1,000 available I'll sell these via Raffle at some point after all the GB orders have shipped.

As far as I can tell, yes. Ghosts have the better colour scheme though.
