Really like this, basically GMK Eve and Eve is low key one of my favorite colorways. I'd love to see beige mods as an option and also white text on blue instead of black.

Am I the only one that think its similar to GMK Olivetti to some degree?
I mean no offense, but at first glance,I think its just a combination of GMK Olivetti and GMK Electric Bluegaloo Mod Set. :p :p
I know there're some differences, but I am afraid thats not enough to appeal to enough people to make this happen.
Good luck,man.
Interested! And I agree with crovax3000, a blue space bar could be a nice addition.

wauuu looks awesome!
Looks pretty nice :D
Dont really like the blue f-row tho, if you could include white or grey extras as carbon did, it would be awsome.
Btw, you can make a "similar" set on uniqey designer, so, yay, free render. Well, more or less.Show Image(https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55975693/uniqey.jpg)
Oh what? Where is this? I initially had the Grey function keys, so we'll see what it ends at. I don't want to add too many keys as that just adds cost and I liked the splash :)
A blue spacebar would look nice.
Original design looks like a blue version of hyperfuse.

I really do like the look of it, but I think you're missing out on not using the brown of his turtle shell. I think it'd look very nice as an accent on the enter key, escape, or perhaps the FN key, and you could just do one custom key, have the FN key be like a turtle shell. I think that'd be real cool.

Filled out the survey. Some thoughts:
Add R5. I love that row.
Maybe a 6u space bar? I think GMK makes them now.
How firm is the color choice? I've always preferred N5 over V4, but not sure how that would look with colors for the mod caps; Electric Bluegaloo is great, so maybe you want to keep it different.
How would the alpha legends look with black instead of blue?
I like the blue arrow keys, but not so much on the function keys. I like this set, GJ.

lighter green or lighter yellow is more adequent for alpha with darker blue legend
but GMK penumbra with lighter yellow as alpha is being done in GMK and lighter green as alpha is new and novel and is inspired by your picture.
that is why i prefer to put darker blue(V4 on GMK color card) legend on lighter green(3A on GMK color card) .
I have indicated the two color which could be proper for alpha keycapsShow Image(http://i4.piimg.com/567571/b56cdddf74828668.png)

What a wonderful set.
I would like to suggest something new for me: bars on f and j, plus 1800 support.
Thanks :thumb:
I want bars.
1800 user here.
Guess you went ahead with my idea of the white text on blue mods :p
I think the additional keys could be improved though.

Yeah white on blue is great! Thanks for that. What keys are missing? Having a hard time imaging it.
Nice, i dig the colors.
From my POV N5/GR1/N9 is great combo. However i'd like to ask why making Alpha legends V4? If i look at my new/updated GMK color chain: N5 legends on GR1 will be very distinctive btw. clear and sharp.

The deep contrast for the the blues is something I really enjoy. I'll have to look at renders for the alphas and mods next to each other to give a definite response to this. That is a great idea however :)

Oh well than you should keep the legends V4. I just thought you had doubts btw was worried about N5 not being distinctive enough. :)
Loving the novelties. What about win key novelties? Really hoping this gets to GB.
Is the set going to include bumped F/J's?
We're getting bars.
It seems so (hope so). I hope to get bars, but also scoops, because I've very altruistic. :-XIs the set going to include bumped F/J's?We're getting bars.
What about a wave or a shell? Want this to happen so bad :|
having the arch logo would be awesome actually, but I don't know how feasible that is considering not everyone uses arch or cares.
sunglasses please!
you already know i'm in jchan
Can I make a novelty suggestion? What about the water energy design from the TCG?
It would be cool to have some additional colored novelties like the electric, grass, and fire type logos as well! Don't mean to go and make this a Pokemon keyset, but a Pokemon themed novelty kit would sell like hotcakes right now.Show Image(http://img04.deviantart.net/a51a/i/2013/131/6/e/button_designs___pokemon_tcg_energy_symbols_by_bagleopard-d64unh9.png)

Haha I was working on that one actually. But I'll have to see if it makes the cut. GmK novelties are expensive.

Yes, please post an IC. Honestly, novelties would make this set 100% better to me because its just a cool colorway. Novelties would tie in pokemon with a kick ass keyset. That's just my 2 centsCan I make a novelty suggestion? What about the water energy design from the TCG?

Would love to see the Ctrl legends changed to Control.
Would love to see the Ctrl legends changed to Control.
Didn't even catch that. I agree; I hate "Ctrl" on the 1.5u mods.
All this time I've been paying attention to the colors. I have to now inspect the legends and actual cap options. ;D
Fantastic render, full ISO-UK coverage! I will get one set for sure!
One minor point though, regarding the GMK render, it seems there are way too many R4 1u 'Code' keys? Surely we don't need 4 Code caps. Please change it back to 2x 1u Code and 3x 1u R4 blanks. Thanks! :thumb:

I am 100% down for this set, novelties or not, I love this color combo. Can't wait for it to go to GB.
what is the 3rd novelty by the way?
It looks like something sliced in half by a katana

Check out the newly redesigned novelties!
- The novelties are the only things that make this set "Squirtle," but if the novelties don't work out then the set doesn't really remind me of Squirtle. Maybe just name the set something else and have an easier time getting novelties?

Is custom legend text something that happens with GMK sets? Perhaps change the text on Enter/Shift/Caps Lock/etc. to Pokemon moves or something, similar to how space-themed sets have their Overdrive buttons and such.
Maybe just have a custom escape or meta key by default, like JTK does.
The set looks good now, but can GMK do such tiny details for the novelties?
Okay, finally got a chance to look over the mock-up. Still love the set, but here are some things I noticed/thought of:
- Is it possible to add F5-F8 and Prt Sc-Pause in GR1 to match the alphas? This way the blue ones won't look too out of place.
- The novelties are the only things that make this set "Squirtle," but if the novelties don't work out then the set doesn't really remind me of Squirtle. Maybe just name the set something else and have an easier time getting novelties?
- Surprised there are no Windows/Menu caps. Consider adding some, if at all for child packs.
- I just realized there are no icons. They look so weird as text-only, especially since there are other caps that have icons-with-text. I'm fine with the short Backspace as is, but I personally prefer the bigger arrow with the X inside.
- Any willingness to make the 7u bottom row R5? :-*
- LED caps?

Custom legends are possible, even with text, seeing that they are willing to do novelties. But this requires you pay for the tooling associated with this.

Nope, but they are being refined now to be adjusted for their requirements. Wish I knew the specifications before I made the icons...Okay, finally got a chance to look over the mock-up. Still love the set, but here are some things I noticed/thought of:

:D Romevi, the man with details. Here are your answers.
1. Sorry, but I won't be doing that this time :(. Trying to stick it with some blues.
2. Haha you gotta go back to OG Kanto Region Pokemon then. The novelties are : Bubble, Squad Glasses, Surf, and Shell :)
3. We can see that. Definitely a good consideration and that can be finalized as we can get closer. GMK is on break now so I'll have to wait for them :)
4. Icons are being added. That's an error.
5. Sorry not at this time :(. No R5 :( </3 sorry.

I have seen GMK LED caps but I never saw the GB so it could have been someone else making them.
Is there any chance that you could add a spacebar kit similar to what is going to drop in the near future for Carbon?

Thanks for the response!
1. That's fine, but I guess it's the all-black row that clashes most. Most, if not all, Cherry sets have alternating top rows with the main modifier and alpha base colors; having that top row with no white would look off to me, but I guess we'll see.
2. OG Kanto is what I was thinking of, but when I look at the set I don't think of Squirtle at all, and I think it's because of the lack of brown. I know the novelties include it, but since the black dominates the modifiers I don't really think of the blue starter Pokemon. I don't want to change the colors at all, but rather the name. But it's totally your call.
3. Great!
4. Ah, thank goodness!
5. R5 > R4 for bottom row. >;)
6. They definitely do, but I think I meant to use the term "window" caps as mentioned above. I have them with my Skidata set!
Please don't take these as negative criticisms but as mere suggestions from one user. As I've said, I love this set and already have planned to put aside money for the GB.

I don't suppose you could make a small pack that includes the windows key/other keys that people are requesting? If it doesn't hit moq then it doesn't hit moq but at least we would have a chance at the few keys we might want. Either way, the set is shaping up very nicely.

Extremely fair point.
Can you list what sizes you'd want the win pack?
2x 1u & 2x 1.25u?.
I've seen a lot of support for a classic windows key logo so I think that's the way to go.

You may consider as well to take advantage of the new diamond legends for 1.25 and 1 units key caps.

I would use diamonds but I don't feel like it fits the theme unfortunately. :(
The alternative keys are already the novelties so we'll see about the win pack.
A little dismayed by the lack of f1-f4 f9-f12 keys to match the alphas.
Would like to see the blue arrow keys have the dolch color pack rounded triangle style arrows.
Will buy regardless.

Is the front side of "Pause" made by padprint?

A little dismayed by the lack of f1-f4 f9-f12 keys to match the alphas.
Would like to see the blue arrow keys have the dolch color pack rounded triangle style arrows.
Will buy regardless.
With a month left for the GB, this is the highest consideration I'm making for a change.
+1 for the 1.25u and 1.u Windows pack. It was taken out of Plum unfortunately, but I really like the contrast (icon against the control/alt text) and accuracy (what the key says, the key does) of the Windows keys.

In N9 for the keycap color? :)
This is going to be the greatest keyset of all time. I can feel it.You could say that this keyset is gonna be the very best, like no keyset ever was.
Custom legends are possible, even with text, seeing that they are willing to do novelties. But this requires you pay for the tooling associated with this.
Custom keys are gonna be in a novelty pack as shown in the OP :DThe set looks good now, but can GMK do such tiny details for the novelties?
Nope, but they are being refined now to be adjusted for their requirements. Wish I knew the specifications before I made the icons...Okay, finally got a chance to look over the mock-up. Still love the set, but here are some things I noticed/thought of:
- LED caps?
6. GMK doesn't make LED caps afaik.
I have seen GMK LED caps but I never saw the GB so it could have been someone else making them.
Is there any chance that you could add a spacebar kit similar to what is going to drop in the near future for Carbon?
Spacebar? A 6.25u and 7u white are included and an optional n5 spacebar kit is also available
sick stickers jchan they kinda look like a set logo for some pokemon tcg set LOL
Love the stickers, do want.
Love the stickers, do want.
I'm most likely to include one in every set of GMK Hydro! :D

I'd LOVE that, such a cool idea and the stick is so sick!

:). Yupp! So if 1 base + 1 novelty = 2 stickers, for instance. :D
Looking at packaging options now.
Awesome colors! Will most definitely be in for one...
Now if only we can get a Bulbasaur Set similar to this one... GMK Vine anyone?

The green set is next :). I've done some drawing the novelties but these are more like sketches compared to what has happened for GMK Hydro, as I believe they are fundamental to the final design of the whole set.
Here are my plans:
1) GMK Hydro
2) GMK Vines
3) Possibly GMK Flames
3.5) Possibly GMK Lightning ?:)
4) Possibly DSA Hydro
5) Possibly DSA Vines.
6) Possibly DSA Flames.
I would do a red set, but I think there's this certain quality of red that people don't enjoy. Not that many RED sets have been made but many this can be one of the few!
I hope you all enjoy this plan and hope you all enjoy the designs that come from this.

Will GMK Vines be something similar to GMK Nordic pine? If you haven't chosen a palette for that yet, maybe you could confer with the designer of that set, seeing as it is unlikely to happen, I would love to see it reincarnated as GMK vine (perhaps with some bulbasaur novelties?)

Lots of cool stuff to look forward to then!
Btw, apologies if it's already been stated and I've missed it but where's the group buy going to be held? If that's already been determined that is.

You should call them GMK Solar (Beam) and GMK (Fire) Blast and keep up with the supermove theme!

Palette will be the similar, but I will look at a custom green color.N7 is a little too dark for my tastes., but the way that the colors will be hinted will be similar to this one. I will rethink how deep the grey tones are. I really do prefer mute tone alphas (white, grey, black), so I'll be using those as point of departures in the designs.
And of course, there will be some bulbasaur inspired novelties to go along with it.
I'm sure that if you are enjoying the current taste of GMK Hydro, you will enjoy the designs I have setup for GMK Vines.
IC for is it planned to go up when Hydro finishes payment phase & we submit to GMK :). So early October? :D

I'm not fussed about the shade of green, as long as it's not obnoxiously bright. Do hope you keep with the N9 base though, since it will keep some sort of corellation between sets, and also it's the base colour of Dolch, and Dolch base is best base :))

Yeah, that is what happens sometimes; after a few years around my collection growth to the point that some keyboards were in boxes, then I decided I should have what I use, only, I have two keyboards right now and I am perfectly happy.

Schweet, thanks for the heads up. ;D
Almost gave up looking for sets for the Cherry 1800s, because recent sets from GMK aren't designed with them in mind but for modern 1800 layouts with standard or 7U spacebars.

AFAIK, 1800 keyboards with 7u WKL arrangement is actually the old-school arrangement. Newer boards are the ones that comes with 6u spacebar and winkeysIt does support 1800 including the 6u space bar, it is shown in both the base alpha color and in the blue one and you should be aware that GMK mold for these bars fits the 1800's stems positions, while SP's does not.

Is the icon-less Backspace a fluke?
Since other modifiers now have icons

I like the decision to use N9 on blue mods since people can use bluegaloo mods if they want white text.
going through keyclack so you should be fine

Could've been my favourite set, but black text on the blue... Should be white! :'(
Shame. Hyperfuse is still better than any other GMK set, in my opinion.

Sorry Xondat :(. The battle between uniformity vs the novelties was a tough one.
I fundamentally believe that I'd kill off the novelties by changing it to GR1.
Maybe if we need to change that up, R2 will have the N5/GR1 keys that you wish to see. Of course, you can always try to find a bluegaloo set to change it up :^).
Yeah, I was bummed at first, but the black text quickly grew on me. Plus, we can always supplement it with Bluegaloo, as mentioned.

I wonder how different the alphas will look in person compared to TA (i.e. how much bluer). Because right now I'm using TA alphas and Bluegaloo mods, feel like I'm already 50% of the way to GMK Hydro.
I'm supporting this set because someone finally is supporting the 1.25u Fn and Code keys. Almost no sets do this. Hats off to you sir.
So the Blue is the same as Bluegaloo. Is the light gray the same as Hyperfuse? I'm sorry if that has been addressed. Thanks.
Man if I had a TKL I would be all over this set. Well, if I had a TKL aaaannd money I would be all over this set. Great work OP!
I was thinking of pairing it with the bluegaloo, but not anymore, since the legends are gray
And about the novelties, I'm not a fan of the theme ^-^
Nice set anyway

Ah sorry about that mate. Will we still see your support for this set :-X
The Alpha appear to be the same as Hyperfuse obviously with blue instead of purple. Are their color codes the same?
I think I actually like the gr1 better. The hyperfuse alphas look really white. Gr1 looked more white

Right; fortunately, a few sensible group buy leaders of current ICs that will turn into buys soon, are offering the 6u option, you should be prepared to invest in them, because I think, most upcoming sets will support 6.25 and 7 units bars, only; also, you should be aware that Sprit has developed the wire in that size and he posted a picture of it today, I suppose the wire will be available soon. The original wires of this size from 1800 keyboards tend to present a bump in the middle that may clash with plates as most of the boards that carried it do not have plates, while the Sprit's is straight.
While I can bend my own thick wires for stabs, I'm not inclined to fit a plate on my 1800s unless they're universal. I like them the way they are as they absolutely sound wonderful. Is there support intended for original Cherry 1800s?
I see there's multiple spacebar sizes in the sketches, sure hope this set comes with support for 1800's and 6U spacebars. :thumb:
It does support 1800 including the 6u space bar, it is shown in both the base alpha color and in the blue one and you should be aware that GMK mold for these bars fits the 1800's stems positions, while SP's does not.

I'm just looking to find time get my 1808 and 1867 removable mini-b modded.

What do you mean by universal? Like ANSI-ISO universal cutouts? Or universal as in supporting both 1800 and 1865 bottom row?
I've been on working on a 1800 plate file for laser cutting, I've got plates for both 1800 and 1865 layouts too if you want to get some cut.
Thanks for the assistance, but, it will be quite sometimes before I start to work on my 1800s...
I still have a soft spot for the pcb mounted cherries. :D
Yes, universal as in compatibility for ANSI/ISO and both bottom row layouts.

That plate is a hybrid bottom row layout but I could make one specifically for 6+7u bottom row too :thumb:
PCB mounted 1800s feels a bit too mushy for me, and the dowels in the bottom and top casing are made out of wet tissue paper, they just break off way too easily. Gotta start getting better at generating 3D geometries so I can have my own 1800 cases made out of aluminium

Wow, now that's dedication. :thumb:
That's basically it, looks like you even take into consideration with the plate for ease of switch top removal.
Yea, I will confess that was the main draw of a plate with the bottoms of the cases being very brittle and it even looks like your switches are not leveled when your case isn't fully closed up with some of them snapped off.

Aluminium? I have a pok3r and I like so much more the supercheap $15 plastic cases... Well, if you succeed in replicating a 1800 case, you can probably make a gb for 3d printed plastic cases then ;-)

That's my main problem with 1800 series cases, there are usually two large dowels on the top case that goes into two holes on the PCB and locates it axially, but there are also two little dowels on the bottom case that keeps the PCB in the proper alignment for when you snap the top case down. The problem is that these two pins always snap off doesn't matter how careful you are. Having a plate makes for a much more secure fit when the case is closed down.

I'm totally lost. What's with the 1800 talk?
Considering my limited budget for the hobby, I just hope to be able to get this set along with the upcoming white on black one; which is a must have set, no serious keyboard aficionado can pass.

For some reason Pokemon GO really ruined Pokemon for me, even though I didn't play the game, have no idea why it happened, maybe it happened before and I only realised with Pokemon GO release
I do love the Gameboy games tho, bought a 3DS ~2 years ago for the new games, they still provide 30 hours of net. guaranteed fun per game
Then I spent an awful amount of money on TCG, re-lived the old days with my brother, in those days, we weren't much on the lucky side of things - now I have a huge drawer section full of Pokemon cards
If anyone is interested, the online card game is JUST INCREDIBLE - There are just countless strategies, decks, and collecting/using cards is a breeze - I had the most annoying deck possible for example, using Pokemons and trainers that just discard energies and cards of the opponent, most people just forfeit after 1-2 turns, only the most agile decks were able to beat it
For this set, I'm interested for the colors tho and not Pokemon

Totes agree on the TCG, but I haven't played it in a couple of years. I had no idea how to play the game before the TCG Beta was released, and when I played I was instantly hooked. Bought some boxes, made some decks, and attended a few events. Got my kid sister hooked on it so thankfully I didn't look like an old creep at the events, but after going to them I was nowhere near actual creep level.
Anywho, as a kid I was the ripe age when Blue and Red released; took the neighborhood by storm. Never got the games or a Game Boy, but years later my roommate in college was into the DS games, so I got a Lite and the GBA and DS games. played all the main series thus far save for Black 2 and X/Y.

I had a game boy, but, what no one realised was, every GB/A game in my country was a fake game at the time, even the ones Toy's R US etc. sells - and the bastards just removed conversation files from the games, so instead of conversations, random characters appeared, you couldn't reliably save the game - still, spent 1000's of hours with those versions of the games. Only a kid I knew had a genuine game, he got it from US - I kind of view Nintendo piracy as a crime against humanity
This is the online game by the way: http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/play-online/ - Pro method: Buy codes from Ebay, trade packs for cards you want in game - one can get even the most rarest cards for a single booster pack, if I recall correctly. I would still play if the OSX version was decent, but it isn't
Please keep the brown one as original design
I'm on team dark blue here. I thought brown stood out very much from everything else, and not in the tasteful accent way.
+1 for the original brown Esc shell. Really set the set apart.

It really tied the set together.
Personally I'd prefer the original color with the newer shell design

Why not both. If you are going for a full blue theme kb, probably will not use that brown esc key.

It's a full size keyboard within a TKL form factor. What's not to like?
OK, this is annoying. I actually really like the look of this set. Squirtle is my jam. I may have to get in on this somehow with no money and a holiday in October...
Have production times been released yet? Or will that be when the GB goes live?
I'm too old to appreciate the Pokemon reference, but not too old to appreciate the colorway! :)
Has there been a pricing estimate? I've been away from the thread for a while and haven't seen any indication of a price.

Fugg, September is so packed. Gonna have to show serious restraint to make sure I join before deadline.
With all these nice sets on offer at the same time, this one should be priced very carefully, some others are already very good deals.

I believe that WoB was priced well because of the uniform color pigment that it has. Hopefully Hydro can get close to it, but I'm not sure how color affects pricing.
For comparative data, look at GMK Skidata and how much that cost compared to other sets available, in addition to looking at compatibility that each set offers with the number of keys, etc :)

I am pretty sure you will do very well.
Regarding Skidata, its pricing structure appeared to be related mainly with the GB's profiting approach; that I respect; but, I prefer the GBs that are community oriented. A nice set with a proper price is the best example of what a community like this can make.

Hyperfuse R2? Where you get this from?
Since it might take some time to dig through 100+ pages of this thread, is it okay that I ask if there will -ever- be a 2nd round for this set? I joined this forum way too late to join in on this and I don't think I'm willing to pay 250+ for a second hand set :\That has been confirmed

After all current Ctrl Alt GBs have finished I would've thought, I heard Bunny mentioned in one of the threads they're trying to wrap up all current buys before proceeding with future projects

Correct, BunnyLake mentioned previously that he would prefer to finish all of the outstanding orders and group buys before starting on other projects. I was not given any indication of when it will happen or who would host the group buy, but was told that it will happen. That was all the information I was provided with.

I might be dumb but does a B.mini x2 count as a standard 75%?
i really wanna use this set on a b.mini
Registered, because I am super excited about this set. Just curious regarding the spacebars - in the description it says it supports FC660M, but some Leopolds have different spacing for the stems. Will the spacebar having support these different spacings? It'd be nice to have but not holding my breath.
The original version of the FC660M's had the space bar's stems in non standard positions; so, if you have one of those these bars will not fit it. No standard space bar does. When I had one of those boards I got some PBT blank sets at Tai Hao that carry compatible space bars.

Alright that makes sense, I figured that might have been the case. I'm okay with leaving the spacebar as is (or possibly modding a spacebar to work). Thanks for the response... now just waiting for that price update.
any idea if the fc660m coverage will be for the original spacebar or the newer version?

It's pricey, but not unreasonable TBH, GMK sets tend to be pretty expensive anyway.

Yea I just paid $130 a few weeks ago for Keyboard & Co GMK which had basically the exact same keys included as this one does - $150 doesn't sound unreasonable to me personally, it's expensive of course but GMK is expensive.
* Almost the exact same keys.
This has 20 more keys for ultimate compatibility and the pricing includes trays. Gotta keep these babies safe of we'll have another TA issue.

Will there be a limit on the number sold? Also how long do you project the group buy being open?
It said in the op before that it would be open for like 4-5 days I think? I may be high. IDK
He also said you can get a number of sets, as long as you don't seem like a flipper.

cheers! thanks man! appreciate it!any idea if the fc660m coverage will be for the original spacebar or the newer version?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The updated version of the FC660M is known to use standard stems 6.25 space bar; thus, any standard space bar of that size would fit it, including GMK's that are standard, also. Very few space bars fit the stem positions of the original FC660M.
Here is a picture of the sample I owned that shows the stems and a picture of the space bars that I had that fits it, I found that neither GMK nor SP space bars fit it.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/FcBF0B4.jpg)
Original version of the FC660M.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/T0pNzYF.jpg)
Space bars that fit the odd stems of the original FC660M, the gray one is the original Leopold one, the white above it fits them, as well as the black one, the other white is from a Skull Squadron set that as you can see does not fit the stems.
Matching cables available with purchased keyset? I mean blue, grey, and white aren't too tough to match but.. ya know. Sometimes people just like decisions to be made for them.
What sizes are the novelties? Wondering if I could outfit an erogodx with a base + 2 novelty sets.
The white spacebars that come with the base set are 6, 6.25, and 7 right?
What sizes are the novelties? Wondering if I could outfit an erogodx with a base + 2 novelty sets.
The novelties look to be 1u, 1.25u, and 1.5u
The white spacebars that come with the base set are 6, 6.25, and 7 right? Both these statements are correct.
I wonder what the signup curves are like on GB's. If I had all the data on all GB's, I could find the exact perfect amount of time for them to last... Well, not me - someone smart could...
Meh, those are problems that statisticians know how to weight against.I wonder what the signup curves are like on GB's. If I had all the data on all GB's, I could find the exact perfect amount of time for them to last... Well, not me - someone smart could...
I feel like a dataset on all GBs would be very inconsistent, as it is difficult to factor in
A. when people get paid and are ABLE to join
B. holiday seasons
C. group buys who are extended to international parties towards the very end
D. group buy timings (when the RIGHT time for a group buy is, as some people argue there is "no right time" for a group buy, due to various reasons)

Moral of the story, is you probably shouldnt spend hundreds on keyboard stuff, if you have to wait for payday to afford it. :blank:

7u is too long. Way unnecessary.
The only good thing it does is even out the bottom row by changing the size of the other caps (and eliminating one), but otherwise any bar longer than 6u is overkill--in my eyes, at least.

7u means the spacebar is not centred correctly to the alphas area (and by extension, to the default hand position), so that really bugs me.

Where can you actually get a 6u spacebar in classic Cherry beige? Also where did you get there 1u Winkeys with the Windows 7 logo? Are they Row 5?
6.25u isn't centered correctly either in that case...
This six unit space bar is a Gateron made one in Cherry profile in PBT, that Sir Infiniti graciously donated me - Thank you again Infiniti - and it can be sourced from IMSTO's store, he has six, six and a quater and seven units available, I got from him the seven unit versions in black and beige a year ago, then he had no six units yet, the Windows logo keys are A Profile.
6.25u isn't centered correctly either in that case...
It's close enough to centre with respect to the homing keys. It's 1u from F to the outer left edge of the bar and 1.25u from J to the right edgeThis six unit space bar is a Gateron made one in Cherry profile in PBT, that Sir Infiniti graciously donated me - Thank you again Infiniti - and it can be sourced from IMSTO's store, he has six, six and a quater and seven units available, I got from him the seven unit versions in black and beige a year ago, then he had no six units yet, the Windows logo keys are A Profile.
I see, thanks for the info. It looks like the 6unit bar has offset stem though, I had a look on imsto website. ::)
Looks like you need to get some diamond 1u keys to go with your board. Maybe wodan can add them in the next round of HADapters!

That would rock, and you should be aware that original Cherry six unit space bars found in 18xx boards have the switch stem off centered as well, exactly as the new Gateron's. I know, my Raptor K1 also has offset stem, just wondering if any sets ever included a 6u key with centred stem, I know they exist in OEM profile but I've never seen Cherry ones before.
Throwing it out there, now that Originative have said "in store this week" for Hyperfuse, and it's most likely GMK...
PS: Curious how Hyperfuse will be priced given you said $150 for this set is steep, I'm fairly new to buys like these and yea $150 is a ton of money, so was $130 for K&C, but I just figured GMKs prices are pretty damn high these days.I'm not turning this into a HF discussion, but apparently GMK sets are even cheaper to be made now, and a "full featured" set is about $90. This is mainly why I asked about pricing. K&C makes sense because Sherry/Originative run a business.

It only happened today where someone (v experience) talked about GMK pricing, nothing to worry about, but it has got me wondering why prices have gone up if they're cheaper to make.I'm not turning this into a HF discussion, but apparently GMK sets are even cheaper to be made now, and a "full featured" set is about $90. Yea I wasn't trying to derail the thread, on the contrary, maybe I worded it poorly. I was just wondering as it pertains to Hydro as well, if pricing discrepancies are all over the place it may get a bit iffy for folks to make up their mind - interesting that GMK sets are cheaper to be made now, goes to show I'm far from being "in the know", $90 is super reasonable for a full featured set (given pricings I've been seeing past couple months most the time).
Regarding K&C yea it is understandable yea, I feel it was perfectly warranted there.
Hopefully I'm not accidentally derailing anything, I really hope Hydro comes to be and that Hyperfuse/other sets coming out don't lead people to skip out, it'll just be interesting/educational to see what happens.
Jchan also runs a business so that explains some of the cost. I haven't heard that a full set starts at $90 now. Hydro pricing seems similar to kb&co and carbon at least at the lower price points.Overheads have to exist, but we've become used to very high prices.
earn money is a main point, i think. Before is enthusiasm for GMK , now is enthusiasm for money. I really show my respect to Mr Jchan. At which price to launch a GB is a right belonging to jchan. I really like the novelty keycaps he have create in this , very good and cute.It only happened today where someone (v experience) talked about GMK pricing, nothing to worry about, but it has got me wondering why prices have gone up if they're cheaper to make.I'm not turning this into a HF discussion, but apparently GMK sets are even cheaper to be made now, and a "full featured" set is about $90. I'm not going to comment on this further until jchan gives his insight, but I think it's something worth talking about. Please keep to facts, and don't speculate/guess as that only leads to negativity.
Throwing it out there, now that Originative have said "in store this week" for Hyperfuse, and it's most likely GMK... It doesn't sound good for Hydro.
I don't think it ever has looked good - Keyboard & Co barely made it, Originative (keyset) is still ongoing (I don't think they've reached half MOQ yet), Stormtrooper took weeks to meet MOQ.
Personally, $150 is very high, and I can't figure out why it's so high. Perhaps we can have more insight? What are your thoughts on the MOQs and other GMK buys, jchan?
Do you have any concerns or doubts towards hitting moq with the upcoming cap sets currently in the mix.Throwing it out there, now that Originative have said "in store this week" for Hyperfuse, and it's most likely GMK... It doesn't sound good for Hydro.

Each set costs about $135 to produce at the lowest drop point and pricing follows that as we hit moqs. You also have to consider the number of keys included relative to the pricing. It's a very wide set that covers a lot of alternatives. Also consider that the pricing is inclusive of trays.
If you like hyperfuse, that's great dude. Go get it, it's a good deal compared to what people on the mechmarket are selling it for at this moment. I bought a set today from Sherryton and it's awesome. It will cost $175 at retail but consider the price relative to the keys, and also of course, immediate shipment of the set. Of course, consider the colors as well. Whichever floats your boat honestly.
I hope you join the buy regardless, and I hope this is as transparent as possible. Whichever way you go, I hope you enjoy the set you end up with bro.
Edit:
$135 includes trays, banking fees, sorting fees, and shipping fees (more expensive with trays).

Hyperfuse being my main concern.
Hopefully regardless of hyperfuse, people will jump on hydro and get a splash of blue on their board.

That would rock, and you should be aware that original Cherry six unit space bars found in 18xx boards have the switch stem off centered as well, exactly as the new Gateron's. The one in the picture is a space bar I sold last year, it was an original Cherry's 1800 I supose that the upcoming ones, like the space bar included in GMK HYDRO will have also off centered stems.

I would like to know the answer as well. Off-centered stems on the 6u spacebar or not?
Oh, EXCELLENT optional cable!

6u, 6.25u, 7u
Thanks, then when will this GB close?
Oct 1st, but we might add a few days for Chinese GB to end :)

A good idea IMO would be to add a MOQ counter somewhere on the GB page to keep people informed of the number of each sets already sold. I think it would give people more assurance when they are buying and will also add a layer of transparency to the GB.

just a note - seems like a ton of people here, reddit, and other places are hesitant about joining before the 250 moq hits
1) i think it's pretty much guaranteed since we're combining orders with china - if anyone remembers the gmk carbon drop the asian order was a significant portion of hitting the higher moq
2) if everyone interested in the 250 moq price contributed to the buy, i have no doubt we'd hit 250 moq. possibly same for 500 moq. really if you want to get the drop to happen at 250 moq, you should join to contribute to hitting that moq. 150/250 are not particularly difficult numbers to hit with how big the community has grown.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was reading the first post a couple days ago and I was under the impression that shipping was included in the price of the set.
Was I reading that wrong, or did it indeed change? Going to join either way, been looking forward to this since the first day you posted the IC.

Not too sure, but I thought that it was always not included.
you have a basic changing production price, and the shipping would be fixed at 8 and 20 or whatever.
I will place an order as soon as I get some more funds at the end of the month.

Same, planning my resources around this like it is a rent payment or something.
It's so bitter missing the sweet spot of this GB, after following the IC for this long :(
Can't really grasp how fast it happened, I guess I'm so used to the month-long GB's and reminders from Massdrop to order

Ha, ha--same. This is my favorite GMK set and I feel so bad for missing the GB phase, but I'm still looking to get a set during the current phase.

A year ago I would just shrug, and pull the plug at $170, I guess I'm getting old and careful with money
Now, I don't want to miss the set, but don't want to be an idiot in my own eyes by paying extra for nothing either, it's a dilemma
I don't know whether I'm bitter, but this price change doesn't seem like fairplay either, It would have been much more easier/fun to lock the orders and unleash the extra charge when the set launches, I couldn't complain if that was the case, now it just feels like a trap
Free economy I guess

Wasn't there a defined window for getting orders in?

There was a definitive moment for getting orders in and it was announced before and during the GB.
I ordered extras that are available for purchase. I think I was pretty open, and clear about the process, timeline, and markup value.
GMK has confirmed a mid January ship date.
Any update on the shipping? I saw it reached in Europe but haven't heard anything about shipping to the states.
