Welcome to Geekhack!

Nice board - all pastels is so soothing :)

For a moment there I thought you were a Fortran programmer, with that IJKL :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

been meaning to post in this

(warning: story mode begin)

so a couple weeks ago, I took apart my Poker X that's been sitting in box; part of my reentry into this hobby

more than a year ago, i did some "experimental" way of lubing some linear grey on my Poker X that went badly wrong, and those abstudio(?) clear switch tops, as well intention that were, suck so bad and are brittle but those were not exactly the problem, the problem is i ****ed up the contacts on most of the switches, and some other things were wrong with them, they SUCKED.

but i didn't de-solder because this poker X was the first keyboard i ever modded/de-soldered back in December 2012, and the newbie desoldering i did damaged the board, and it has gone through desoldering 3 times before this one, the first time because i didn't know how to take switch tops apart back then and put white switches on it, second time because i put a vortex plate on, and third time because i put a IMSTO plate on it

whatever..... took it apart, cleaned it, decided to use the IMSTO plate and MKC case for my GH60 and went plate-less stock black switches and put it in the original Vortex PURE CnC aluminum case, right now just doing basic DCS caps with the poker mods, the LED solder points for the spacebar and esc key are totally ****ed.

(end story mode)

go go pokerX.

FUUUUUUUUU! ****ing ****, **** snapped off, i guess i screwed too much.

now i just need to find my damn camera

Good placement of the artisans - they really fit into the rainbow scheme :)

It seems like it's a SA row 3, but when I put it in place of the caps lock or enter it doesn't seem quite right.

Here's my Pok3r with Jukebox.

Show Image

Isn't the Jukebox novelty for the enter key and not the backspace? That profile looks way off. Nice set nonetheless.

I know. It's too short for the enter and too long for the caps lock.

That's kinda strange. I feel like you might have gotten an incorrect key.

Caps lock length/profile?

It seems like it's a SA row 3, but when I put it in place of the caps lock or enter it doesn't seem quite right.

SP accidentally made the novelties in 2u rather than 2.25u
They remade the caps in the right size and sent out replacements to everyone

Both were made in R3 profile

That's what I must have. I got this off of Massdrop a couple of months ago during the capatoa sale.

Assuming you got the base kit they should have sent out replacements with it to you

The jukebox key is from the novelties kit.

Still new to this Poker thing so I'm rocking the printed caps.  This is actually my first mechanical keyboard with any sort of lettering on it at all.  Here she is with a Tex aluminum base and RGB key caps.

Looks similar to the current state of my KC60. I think you need to adjust some of the mods on the left side though.

Yup. After the picture I realized the left shift key wasn't pressed all the way down. The mod keys are reversed because I'm on a Mac.

I suppose that makes sense. It would just really bother me.

I haven't used a PC in nearly a decade. I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it lol

Very nice! The stock caps bother me so much with those legends on the top and bottom of the cap. Leaves all the bottom legends unilluminated. -_-

Haha, I'm using my KBP V60 Mini case as a cover for my Pok3r!

I was about to ask how you got that color scheme because the photo loaded in grayscale for me (unless it's a gif?).

Oh I used some garbage image compressor so it loads the colours one a time for some reason - give it a sec to load
