I love this, and I am planning to get this. Love the icon kits.

Sad that the idea for a more exotic profile (mt3, KAT) is out, but happy that this is not a uniform profile or GMK($$$$, and i'm broke) glad you went epbt.
I just wish the "neo retro" color was a bit more neo than retro :)
I get the aesthetic and the theme, but I think a cooler tone (like the royal navy cream - very light cream) would yield to much better board compatibility and mix-n-match potential.

Intl kit!!!  :-* looking forward to see some samples  :thumb:

While I think the epbt9009 was not the best, I think the quality has been improving. The heavy industry was quite impressive.
I hope they keep increasing quality without increasing the price. haha

I don’t own any epbt sets, so I’m not familiar with their pricing. How much does a set like this usually go for?

I would guess slightly cheaper than grayscale because of less colors.

Love it. Very interested.
Question though: would you consider R4 Enter for Planck users?
Definitely interested if this gets added

Thank you all for the awesome support :thumb:

I already plan to:
  • add R3 1.25 Enter -> Nomad kit
  • add R4 1u Enter -> Nomad kit
  • make a spacebars kit, for people who don't need all the modifiers but just a split spacebar.
  • work on an Ergo kit if there is enough interest. If I do so, I want it to have icons mods tho.

Also, I'm not sure I want to add accents since I think it works kinda well as a monochromatic set.
I got rid of the Rainbow novelty since IMO it's too 'expected' and not that original.

Some of the symbols are a little weird in my eyes.
• Backspace (Backward "delete") has the Back-Tab symbol.
• Shift has a Cursor-Up symbol in my opinion.
• Forward Delete has what I think of ASCII art for fish <><

What would be so wrong about the "Place of interest" symbol?

And BTW, what are the shell prompt keys for?

  • I won't change the backspace; for me, it looks intuitive like that.
  • Since the arrows (from arrows cluster) are way different, I don't see any issues here:
  • I agree that it could be reworked. Maybe something like this?!
  • The ⌘ is in the Icono kit because it's very Maccish I didn't know if people might like that, so I put it there. But since it's kinda assumed, I might replace the circle by that in the base kit?!
  • >_ is for FN. And the 'burger' for Menu.

Hope it helps. If you guys have any thoughts about that, let me know :)

Finally coming!!! One thing I'm feeling so sorry is that alpha only kits which were originally planned is gone now. As I'm a big fan of Ortho I'm definitely wanting to have an alpha kit, I think I'm in for this even if there's no alpha kits though.

Inverted accents (ala GMK monochrome) could look pretty sharp...

I’m usually an accent guy, but I thought this set didn’t need them to keep it clean... now this idea sounds interesting!
Probably worth exploring?

It would lose its appeal as a homeage to the AEK.

Updates:

  • Command Icon (⌘) is now the default Super legend. It replaces the circle icon in the base kit.
  • R3 1.25u and R4 1u Enter keys added into the Nomad kit
  • Icono kit slightly reworked and coffee mug icon added (suggestion from a nice guy)
  • I decided to keep the spacebars in the Nomad kit for now. We will see how the pricing is and maybe change stuff at that time.

Any chance of adding the "stacked squares" icon to a1.75u key ?

I think of this icon as Fn or "Layers", and I map Fn to CapsLock. Not sure if that's a common layout (I think it is, but no data to back it up), and might be attractive to folks who care for it.

Well your nomad kit has 2x 1.25u keys in row 3 profile. As the designer of the katana60 I don't have a choice, I MUST buy it...

I'd be interested in an ergo kit. If not blank then just icons, since you can't really cover every layout.

>_ is for FN.
Squares are for Layers or whatever you want.

I could definitively add one 1.75u FN (and a stepped FN then I guess?!) key in the base kit. But keep in mind that each specific demand might increase the price of the kit. I should get pricing soon tho.

Also, I plan to add a R4 1u squares in the Icono kit.

Definitely not a deal breaker - I'm in the buy either way. I felt like "layers" are more representative of layer switching than >_ which feels more like a "Command" . Just my opinion FWIW.

See the pricing and if it does not make a big change, perhaps consider it ?

Yeah I will definitively consider it!

But yeah, for me the prompt command was intuitive for the Fn key since it can kinda acts how you want. I mean, Fn is not only for layers.
The squares one is just another icon inspired by the first Mac icons (1984), but indeed works well for a layers key.

Now I'm wondering if I should replace the >_ with the squares in the base kit since the icon looks way better 🤔

I had used that >_ icon in my laser blocknet kit for Fn because it evoked the word function to me without even realizing that was the actual intent. Wow...
