Reason for creating this PCB:

Early on into the hobby I developed an affinity for the ortho layout. Unfortunately there were not many options outside split ortho boards. For non-split boards it was primarily down to the OLKB Planck and Preonic. Then the Boardwalk PCB came along and suddenly there was some flexibility with larger boards in an ortho layout but keyset compatibility was largely an issue. Especially with GMK, Ergo kits were quite rare. This is my attempt to alleviate that problem with a 60% ortho PCB that has wide keyset compatibility. After all, 1u mod keys are much easier to come across than 1.5u ones. Yes, the XD75 exists, but it is full grid. Sure you can add spacebars larger than 1u to it, but without stab support you have to rely on very limited profiles and colors. The Plexus75 PCB includes 3 bottom row options: 2x2u, 2x3u, and 7u (layout pic below).

Please note: You Will Need To Modify Your Tray Mount Case

Please be advised that if you use a 60% tray case with the Plexus75 that you will have to Dremel out 3 of the mounting points. It'll take only 5 minutes and is rather painless. It also allows for a better typing experience since the middle of the board is free to flex in the center.

Top Mount Cases

Plexus75 can be used with top mount cases provided that you create a custom plate for your particular case - and that your case works with Universal 60% PCBs or has a ai03 Universal Daughterboard. For $10, I can make you a custom Plexus75 plate for your top mount case as long as the original plate file is available. From there, you can have it cut at SendcutSend, Laserboost, or other plate fabricator.

Hate when that happens. Fortunately, it looks like that only happened to you as I only have 2 unpaid invoices at the moment.

FR4 XD60/XD75 Plates for Plexus75 now in-stock
 
 
Since some people were apprehensive about removing the stand-offs in the universal 60% cases, and rightly so, some members expressed interest in a plate for the KPRepublic XD60/XD75 board. It's a top-mount and in stock high profile case that doesn't break the bank. The major downside though is that it has to ship from China so you may have to wait a few weeks - imagine having to wait for keyboard parts :)
 
They are FR4 and only $15 a pop.

No problem. I'm using this file for the XD75/60 plate (that is, Plexus75 PCB in the KPRepublic XD75 case).


I don't have that case, but no one has reported any issues. Originally, Shensmobile sent me the file. He had modified it for use with the Boardwalk PCB.
