q&a
q: why no iso support?
a: we are based in conus and are planning on running the board through one vendor. as such, we are anticipating the majority of purchasers to be conus based, and thus ansi users. if the ic form reflects something different, this is prone to change.

q: why are there so few units?
a: this is our first public buy, and we are committed to making sure it goes smoothly. with only 50 units, we are hoping that we will be able to deliver quickly and ensure the quality of each individual unit.

q: why is there no hotswap pcb option?
a: we find that hotswap pcbs have more points of failure than their solder counterparts, and therefore do not care to offer them for any of our projects. layout support, though less relevant for this specific pcb, is a concern for future projects as well.

q: why is there only one mounting type?
a: the board isn’t designed with any alternative mounts in mind. we didn’t want to throw in o-ring or something similar just for the sake of it. we are satisfied with the way the typing feel turned out with this top mount implementation.

q: where will updates be posted?
a: major production milestones will be posted to the gb geekhack thread. if you are looking for more frequent/in depth updates, please join our discord linked below.

q: plate files?
a: yes! plate files will be released before fulfillment and will be available publicly.

q: i see a lot of scratches and smudges on the weight. is this the quality we should expect from the group buy?
a: absolutely not. we were not content with the quality of the prototype and will be ordering another from a different manufacturer soon. color chips for planned colors will also be available with the next proto.

FitLabb:
Love what you did with the design of the board, namely with how the side is designed to go from flat to horizontal from front to back, and also the inclusion of 2 macro columns on the left like the Sunsetter has. Good luck with this project and I’ll be keeping a look to see your progress with it. 👍
