ISO return key sticking
« on: Thu, 10 April 2025, 14:57:07 »
Hi everyone, first time poster here!

I recently replaced the standard ISO keycaps on my Keychron Q1 with some EPBT ORIGAMI from KBD Fans.  The only "sticking" point is the ISO return key which doesn't return to position after I hit it.  I read on another forum that PBT caps can warp and a hair dryer could fix the issue but I haven't had any luck trying that out so far.

Any advice will be most apreciated.

Thanks

I would pull the keycap and see underneath if the stabiliser bar is set correctly. Perhaps it has snapped out of its clips.

Have you tried asking it nicely to stop?

Lol in all seriousness, do what Findecanor said and check the wire in the stab and make sure the whole stab (both sides) can move up and down with almost no resistance.

IIRC ePBT Origami has two different ISO Enters, a normal and an accent one. Are they both bad? Or is this happening with just one of them?

If all else fails, you can try warming it up via a hair dryer or putting it in some hot water. If you do go the hair dryer route, just start at a low heat and slowly ramp up, don't start off blasting it with a million degrees and end up making the keycap worse.
