Are the keys going to be in the same texture as other KAM sets like Starry Night or will they be less shiny?

Love the set, would be very interested depending on price. Would be interesting to see a mods highlited terminal. Still, looking forward to it.

Thank you for the responses so far everyone! Any and all feedback will be looked at and considered even if I don't reply directly. The main changes now will be towards the kitting where there are clearly a few issues at the moment.

I'm hoping the Alphas & Standard_Mods look good on a Rama Zenith in Moss.  Another reason I'm looking forward to the year 2021!

I think I would have preferred to have an option for matching alphas and mods colors but that definitely won't stop me from buying this set.

Really love this set.

I feel like it could use at least one more option for alphas though. Black would be nice and since it's Keycreative, you could probably do the neon green in alphas too.

Will matte KAM be the same as KAT profile? Curious if maybe it was more textured.

This!!! My biggest complaint about Starry Night is that it only has F and J as homing. Would love the opption for HUNTA homing so I could change it to true Colemak.
Ortho. Always.

Is this Keyreative?

Are they gonna fix their stabilized key mounting molds?
Are you referring to caps being off-kilter when mounted? Tbh, I don't use my Starry Nights much but the keeb sits on my desk and I can't unsee that some caps tilt no matter what I do.
Ortho. Always.

The theme is totally for me.
In the renders the modifiers base color looks a little to blueish for my eyes though.

I will be adding a homing kit soon for those who had that concern :)

Also new signature! Although I don't know if it's considered rude to have an animated sig or not.

Rude or not, I'm down. That's a great signature.
I'm stoked for this kit and I'm glad to see your inclusion of more homing keys even though I don't have an interest in COLEMAK or other layouts.

This might just be my first KAM set so I am definitely looking forward to this.
I plan on building a board around this set despite having no experience with KAM, just because of how excellent this concept is.

I'm not going to put this in the main IC because people will misinterpret it, but here is a photograph of the actual Pantone chips.

Please take this with a mountain of salt, especially if your monitor is not calibrated and profiled with a colorimeter or spectrophotometer. This has been taken in RAW on a white coffee table with a bounce flash, white balanced in Lightroom to the Pantone paper and had a lens correction applied. This is only useful to see colours in relation to one another and some real world pine cones. It is to demonstrate that 4280C is darker than the RGB swatch, but it is not black. It also demonstrates the contrast between 4280C and 7545C.

Here is another shot with the flash adjusted to another position that provides more contrasty lighting. This better shows 7545C and 353C in terms of vibrance, but 4280C does not look like this in reality.

I love how this falls in the Cyberspace type of color scheme but with a more subtle tone :-)

Just an info for someone like me with no experience with KAT/KAM: how would a KAM profile compare to an XDA? I have the impression that KAM has a more concave printed area while still keeping a similar side shape to the XDA, but I'm not sure I'm getting it right.

They are quite different visually when put side to side..

Taking my KAT R2 keys (from KAT Alpha) and XDA keys (from various sets) together (disclaimer: i know KAM is symmetrical, while KAT R2 is not, but it's the closest thing, i am still waiting for KAM Wraith..), lets see the differences, calling KAT R2 "KAM" to keep things simple:
- KAM sits a tad higher, 1mm about so
- KAM sides are a lot more rounded, the shape is very different there, with XDA having a progressive bevel on the edge leading to the rounded corners from the top
- XDA keycap is indeed flatter, and they keycap surface is noticeably larger
- XDA surface corners are rounded, while KAM corners have notable square-ish shape
- the XDA sets i have (all PBT dye subs) have a rougher texture. Not as much as DSA but still on the rougher side of most profiles. KAM is either glossy ( = zero texture) or matte (i suppose like KAT, so kinda silky)
- something you only see if you remove the keycaps, is KAT / KAM is very thick (1.6mm or so) while XDA is thin (1.1mm or so). The difference in thickness will affect sound, and feeling.

There's another profile called XDAS (like "XDA Square") that might be a closer thing to KAM, with the difference of texture again (my XDAS sets are mid-rough i would say, smoother than XDA though). XDAS is thicker than XDA at 1.5mm, sits higher and has that square-ish top shape, but still has the same sphere radius as XDA so KAM will be more concave, also the corners are more straight leading to a larger key top surface.

Thanks! It was really helpful to get a better idea. From your description it seems like it is more efficient for typing compared to an XDA.

It's really a matter of taste, and habit.
The typing sound is itself a lot more refined, due to the thickness and shape of these keycaps, that's a fact. But otherwise "efficiency" is a very subjective matter. FWIW the key top of KAT / KAM is indeed smaller than XDA, so it needs a bit more precision.
Some people like very textured caps too, for the good grip and less "oily" feeling, some others prefer smoother texture. I know some people are really put off by SA for this reason (as it's shiny smooth).

Wonder why you chose "raise" over "shift" in the mod_terminal kit? Wanna get consistency but I don't really understand this one.
