[WTB] Computer for home automation server (Raspian)
« on: Fri, 08 December 2017, 22:55:36 »
Hey guys, I know this isn't strictly a keyboard request but I see lots of mice and other preferentials, so if I shouldn't post this here I understand.

That out of the way I'm currently running a linux distro on a pi as my home automation server.  There are some obvious limits on what a pi can do and how fast it is so I'm looking to pick up a cheap old machine from someone.  Desktop, laptop its all good, so long as it's fairly decent.  My main machine is running a 3770k I never had the urge to upgrade so my previous computer is even older than that!

Anyway if anyone has something in the sub $200 range LMK WUG and fund your addiction!

Thanks all!

you should look for an old refurbed enterprise workstation. They are basically a dime a dozen.

I've got an extra HP DL 380 G6 SFF if you're looking to get something beefy.
