Best story from Winter Break in the next 5 posts wins a Gem.s Clear Blank

Go.

I was witness to a wedding that nobody believed was real this break.  My friend ws back from the army for a week and surprised us all with a wedding announcement at dinner, 2 days before the event.  Nobody believed him and a 5 person dinner turned into a 20 person hangout and catch-up night.  I honestly didn't believe him up until I went into the city office and signed the papers with him.

Here we were, ten twenty-somethings sitting in this tiny room dressed in casual clothing because the bride, who none of us had met before, was intimidated by us wanting to dress formally at 10am.  Every single other wedding group were dressed in full formal gear, some with photographers and even flower girls for a tiny 15 seat "chapel" in the city hall.  We ended up waiting about 2 hours to be called in, but had a great time catching up with old friends and being a part of a new chapter for another, while being judged by the 2 extravagant french couples there.

I lost my $20 bet.

It was so hot this summer and got to about 40°C outside and about 37°C inside.

Most computer hardware is rated from 5°C to 35°C, so I ended up turning both computers off and pointing the fan at the router.

Everything survived :)

I've been learning how to dance with the gf over the break and have been getting progressively worse. The gf thinks we are amazing, so much so that she entered us into a dancing competition.

I have no idea how to waltz and need to practice my heart out before the competition as to not be a complete disappointment.

tl;dr tried to impress gf with dance lessons, backfired and am now in a dance competition.

Me an my girlfriend, got together with her 3 month ago, went to her mom & little sister (7 yo) over christmas, wich I hadn't met before. :D

We're both studying videogame design together, and bought each other nerfguns and some other small things for christmas, so Christmas Eve quickly turned into a massive shoot-out between my gf, her sister, her Mom and me! xD

Her sister also Really enjoyed waking us up in the morning in the most lovely cruel ways imaginable, like hitting us in the face with plushy toys, dirty socks and so on.

After all the holidays were loads of fun tho, and we really enjoyed every last bit of beeing together with family, building with aquabeads that her little sister got...

...not playing, or working on, games for a few days and of course beeing engaged in those awesome christmas-sie family nerf gun shootouts. =)

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other man pulls out his cell phone and calls emergency services. He gasps to the operator, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator in a calm, soothing voice replies, "Take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a shot is heard.

Back on the phone, the hunter says, "OK, now what?"

A dog went to a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote: "Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof." The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog, "There are only nine words here. You could send another 'Woof' for the same price." The dog replied, "but that would make no sense at all!"

Nice gets!

Mines been sent to my parents so I'm not sure when I'll get to open it. Hopefully sooner than later!

Techkeys is moving in the next couple of weeks - going through the closet-o-keys and finding lots of stuff I can part with...

Looking for ideas on how to give/sell this stuff away - just don't want to get hit hard on shipping Thoughts I had:

1) $5 Grab bag
2) Fire sale - snap pic best offer in 30 min gets it
3) $20 Monster Grab Bag?
4) $15 Gets you a Teeshirt and some crap?
5) ??? Your suggestions?

I think all of those are good options.  The only issue I see is the $5 bag, it will be more to ship than the cost of the bag.  I would be in for a $20 shipped shirt (size xl if they are slim style) and some crap.   :thumb:  Wrap whatever you were planning to add in the middle of the shirt and toss it in an envelope/plastic shipping bag and ship it first class for cheap.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

I agree that the 5$ bag (and possibly some of the fire sale stuff) may not really be worth it when you consider shipping, but the other options seem solid. I'd probably be in for something...
