To start, I really want to discourage people just in it to get something cool and marginally participate.  We've had people in the past who signed up just to get cool stuff and either didn't send anything on, or sent junk on to someone.  That said, just because you're not financially well off doesn't mean you can't sign up and make something cool for someone.  Remember, Secret Santa is about giving, giving what you feel comfortable giving, and giving something from the heart that you really think the other person will like. 

Rules

• You must have 100 posts and be an active member.  Do not spam to make the post requirement
• You must send your package with tracking
• You can pick a region to ship within, but be aware that you will be dropped if there's no one to pair you with.  I'll PM you before doing so, but it's been close in the past.
• Each person will be paired up with one other person.  That doesn't mean you can't send your own Summer Santa on to someone else, just that each person in the Summer Santa will only be paired up with one other person.
• You must mark your package as from Summer Santa.  Remember, this is a surprise.
• Unlike Secret Santa, there is no fixed date for opening.  It's preferred that you open after the shipping cut-off day though, unless you Santa specifies otherwise.  When you do open it, be sure to post pictures.
• You must post pictures.  It's a huge bummer when someone gets a Summer Santa gift and doesn't acknowledge it.   It can be a potato picture, but post something just so everyone knows it got there.  Failure to post pictures will result in bans from future Secret/Summer Santas.
• All Santa pairings will be revealed on August 1, 2016
• Sign up lasts until May 14th, 2016 to give a little more time to find stuff and packages must be shipped no later than July 9, 2016.

Thanks for taking on running a Secret Santa again Nubbs. I see that you're still using Google Docs and I appreciate all the time you'll spend organizing this. Remember, $20 is a minimum for buying things.  If you're artistic or creative or can otherwise put together a well thought out gift that is meaningful and considerate and tailored to your person and it's under $20, that's fine too.

I just want to try and minimize freeloaders and low effort gifts since the spirit of Summer Santa is giving, not getting.  It seems like a select portion signs up to get, not to give.  I want people to remember that, in essence you're putting together a care package, not just a random gift.

In our family we've made the rules to allow either a re-gifted item or something <$20. Can be a joke gift or not. There was a can of Spam and fruit cake that was passed around for a few years though  )
