My Eagle Project
« on: Sat, 01 September 2012, 22:00:58 »
So here goes,
I have been working on my Eagle Scout project and just wanted to share with the world, so I'll be posting pictures etc soon. I have been restoring a score board in my high school's wresting gym. :)

My friend is an eagle scout and wears his eagle belt buckle frequently, and it makes me so jelly!  (I didn't join boy scouts because my cub scout troop was 90% dbags who were afraid of the outdoors :/ Now I realize that 90% of people from the D.C. metro area are like this; products of a ****ty environment.)

Congrats on your accomplishment SmallFry!

i3oiler: I don't get the badge until I submit my paperwork for Eagle i3oiler, but I will for sure post a picture of me when I receive it. I also need to plan a ceremony with a few of my buds to receive the award.

WRXChris: Thank you very much! You should see if you can get a picture of his belt buckle. I'd love to see! I've been thinking of getting one myself. (Don't take a picture with him wearing it, that's just odd... 0_o)

i don't know what this thread is about, but i like smallfry's zombie eyes!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Congrats SmallFry.  I remember how much work my Eagle Project was and how proud I was when I got it.

Eagles are just scouts?

It's the highest rank you can attain in Scouts in the US.  In the UK, I believe it's called Queen's Scout.

The scoreboard is in the wrestling gym at my high school. It's there to stay. :P It's actually like 8 feet across and 12 tall, IIRC, so shipping that may be a bit of a problem. :P
