3d print keycaps
« on: Thu, 21 April 2016, 03:08:37 »
By using 3d print technology, our team have made some special keycaps:
The Dead pool.The Mario.The Iron Man.The ancient Chinese.etc.
We do these things just like making GKs.It's hard to get these things printed.
Hope you guys like them.

Looks nice.  Any chance you would share the 3d model files?

What kind of 3D printer did you use? Something similar to the full-colour technology HP came out with?

My teammate told me that he uses prox 950 3d printer which has SLA technology.I don't think normal 3d printer can make keycaps because they don't have enough accuracy.

Only $250,000... not too bad

Actually, you could probably make a killing selling custom keycaps on these forums. We send you 3D files, you print them to order. You should think about it.

Yeah,we can make personal keycaps for  customers. They give us 2d pictures and we make models and print keycaps for them.My teammater work in a car corporation so he can just use the printer to print something like keycaps. This printer is too much expensive to us.Anyway thank for your advise.

What type of paint was used on the resin? Did you use primer?

Oh wow, just bypass the entire mold making process and print in resin haha. I watched a video from Adafruit of someone printing a resin keycap but they only used clear resin. Awesome stuff :)
