What are brightly coloured cases like?
« on: Sun, 22 November 2015, 03:21:06 »
Hey, I'm planning a keyboard build and am kind of attracted to brightly coloured parts. I'm not talking messy and rainbow, but organised and bright. I'm battling myself over whether to go for a bright green TEX aluminium case or stick with a safer grey/black. The rest of my parts are going to have a green/black theme and was wondering whether anyone with (or without) a brightly coloured keyboard could give their opinion. Do you get sick of the bright colours? Does it light up your day every time you look at it?

Thanks.  ;D

Yellow's good.

Goes well with the green :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You mention TEX...I'm assuming the build you are planning is a 60%?

I just ask because I've been looking for a TEX case for my TKL Filco for MONTHS now but it seems they are never going to be produced again.

If you're planning a 60% as it sounds most of the case will be invisible anyway - you'll only see the border round the edge while using it.

Personally I like colourful things and the F row at the top of my boring black fullsize is full of pretty coloured artisans and I don't get sick of them, I would like a colourful case.  You know yourself better than we know you though so our opinions mean little :))

Hey,
Yeah, I am making a 60%.
Here https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=616etail&616   is the case I was looking at. Here https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=630 is black one.
Hopefully there is a group buy for these because they're quite pricey :/
Hope I've found what you've been looking for. :D
