The 77 inch s90c samsung qd-oled is $2000 at Costco w/ 5 year warranty and $150 shop card bonus. So, effectively $1850.

That is 5.76 x 32" monitors, the 77 inch is a way better deal.

meanwhile import taxes on anything drop makes it a tough buy in the EU (free shipping only lasts 5 days). gotta pass
insane yapping session

this is entirely and factually wrong (for instance you have no clue about the difference between custom duties and VAT) on any imaginable level but you’re funny when you go off and can’t wait for the next delirious wall of text

i really don't understand how hard it is for you to understand that importing from DROP is THE SAME thing as buying from Oblotzky (except DROP won't ever scam anyone or die)

GMK ZX base kit is being sold for 111€ with FREE SHIPPING worldwide, if you have to pay let's say 20% VAT that means you have to pay 133€ in the end. if you go on Obloztky/candy key whatever site, any GMK set is AT LEAST 125€ give or take (if not outright 140€ like candy key) + shipping which brings it to 130€ or 135€ which guess what? it's the SAME EXACT amount you'd pay on DROP

i'm from spain currently in germany and spent nearly 20k€ on their site at this point, complaining that DROP sucks for EU is an ultra stupid brain dead take, buying from them costs the SAME if not CHEAPER than buying on EU, with the added bonus that with DROP you're dealing with CORSAIR INC and their unparalleled customer friendly warranty policy, it's impossible for you to get ****ed by DROP, unlike Oblotzky or whatever who can disappear or "die" any minute

even if buying from DROP would require me forking another 10€ or 20€ I would be fine with that because of their warranty alone, just return and get a full refund no questions asked (which I did in the past with their BMR speaker). if you think a 10€ is too much of a premium to pay for the designers then i'm sorry you're just broke and shouldn't even be here looking at disposable income MK products

this idea of selling MK sets on 30 different sites is the most stupid crap I've ever seen in this hobby, and it has to die. and I'm glad it is dying. I wonder how these designers and suppliers working with 10 or 20 vendors even get paid, do they sign 20 contracts? it's impossible to coordinate financials and logistics like that. no wonder why most these EU/US "vendors" are in fact defunct at this point or outright scammers, that exit scam list is HUGE at this point. GMK sets should be sold exactly how ZX is being sold, insane work OP kudos for the amazing design and for working with an actual company, I'm in for 2 and 1 mat

Hi this is a bit off-topic for this thread, but it is very much not the same. Some countries (Denmark) has a 21.5€ flat fee in addition to VAT (25%). For this set with free shipping, it still isn't too much of a difference, but:
- If there should be any keys missing/defective, and a single key should be sent free of charge, it is still subject to customs. This might mean that you have to pay 21.5€ handling fee to pay 25% of a 1€ marked value, totalling at 21.75€ fee (yes people actually gets this bill, it's not made up).
- If the set is to be returned, having the VAT refunded is nearly impossible at such low amount, afaik
- If the vendor has a policy where the full set has to be returned in order for a new to be sent out, this will most likely result in VAT + the fee being paid twice

If Drop offered pre-paid VAT, it would be easier to order from them without these additional costs.

(Also sending goods from Germany to the US, only to send them back to Germany and their neighbouring countries seems not-so energy-efficient)
(Also small businesses aren't bad. There is a lot of criticism to be dealt out among a lot of vendors that have folded, but I won't let that dictate me to not trust anyone who isn't backed by a massive company)
(I'm not complaining about Drop in general, just a reply to this message)

And to come a bit back on topic: Wonderful set, great kitting. Amazing that you managed to push the sublegends to become doubleshot, I wouldn't have expected that! Great pricing too, all things considered.

are you considering the new oled gaming monitors?

Not at this point. I ask myself, what does 360hz480hz actually do. Motion clarity, ok, what's that for, to optimize the "play" of yet another "competitive" murder simulator. Tp4 has aged out of murder simulators for a while now, kekeke.

Relative to big panels, the drawback is sustained brightness, monitor sizes do not have the surface area to dissipate the heat, so they sustain peak highlights for much shorter durations before monitor ABL knocks it down.  This is fine for the most part, but if you watch alot of HDR movies / tv shows, the TV can cast more light and hold it.

If you're buying ANY monitor right now, get the QD-OLED, but if you got the room to yourself, and you're not obsessive about murder-simulators, Tp4 recommends 77" for better multi-use adaptability.  At current prices, IPS doesn't make much sense.

LG WRGB OLED is fine if you think you can use and drive the 480hz, but most people will probably be happier with better colors on the Samsung QD-OLED at 360hz.

Finally, undeniable advantage for monitors, Tp4 really likes curved, and you can't find it in large tvs anymore. Curved is better, not an opinion, it's a fact. You can see more of the monitor in visual focus without moving your eye,  Curved = Superior.  The human visual acuity field is very narrow, every little bit helps.

all great points, i'm also not gaming too much these days and kind of feel like I should have gone with a larger screen than the 42" than I have right now. the new qd oled 32" panels are all looking quite attractive with all the features offered though, and I'm really surprised that some of them, like the MSI 32 URX is coming in at under $1000. one thing I don't love is about oled's is that buying used is pretty shaky with burn in/abuse risk, so buying new is the most sensible choice. gets so expensive though..

those huge base kits lack basic portions of an actual base kit while incorporating tons of extra stuff that that will needlessly drive the price up for the average user.

what should be added:
- numpad
- r3 1u pipeslash

what can be dropped entirely:
- uk iso
- r3 pgup/r4 pgdn
- r1 1u backspace
- r4 1u pipeslash

what should stay in a child kit:
- novelties
- true hhkb support (6u + 1.5u supers) + 40s support

again, renders look like WS4 more than L9, consider WS4

Thank you for those notes on kitting, I'll be adding a second 1.5u Super and an R3 1U pipe. I don't intend on adding numpad back to the basekit, because that's ~21 keys most people just keep in the box.

Including a couple novelties in basekits is a norm these days and I don't intend on disappointing anyone or upcharging for the cute little illustrations that I've already made and want to share.

On your final note, I have colour samples in hand and am set on L9 and 3C. WS24 is way too bright for the muted colour profile I'm going for.
