My new YD40_Wireless. The PCB and case are designed by myself.
Maybe it's the miniest 40% mech keyboard. The top layer and bottom layer are 2.4mm, middle layer 7mm.
It uses logitek unifying microcontroller of k230 with two cr2032 batteries and can last for more than half a year use.
I use USB to USB keyboard converter for TMK firmware support.
Here are some pics. Later I will write a build log. It is not completed yet. I am still waiting for some screws.

Oh, can't wait the build log! Really interested about the Logitech Unifying microcontroller. You really can get 6 month usage out of it? Man, that's awesome! Off topic - the two "spacebars" are a space & enter or space & backspace? And which one is which? Just thinking about switching my "space" thumb. Now I hit it with my left but I see a lot of 40% defaults to right.

So i got a new camera, and i really wanted to test it out, so i took pictures of my Atreus

I didn't get much reception when i originally shared it but maybe it will get some attention with keyboad pr0n shots (these are really high res shots, click on them)

Awesome build yangdigi!  :thumb:

Super impressive how you managed to keep the footprint of the case this small and minimalistic.
The blue middle layer has to be real thin to acomplish the case being flush with the keycaps.
Love you used one of the feet to hide the bluetooth module while keeping the hole case as thin as possible man!

I am waiting for my new case to build a new one. With top and bottom being aluminum, it will be 2mm thinner than before.
The battery life of logitech unifying is really great. I had used two 2032 batteries for 3 month from 1.1.2016. Then I got one off. Everyday I use it for more than 10 hours. The software tells that its battery leverl now is still 70%.

X-post from the GB thread:
Just built it. Everything works as expected. I went with the in-switch leds (couldn't get underside LEDs to light up when I added them, too much of a drain on the system).
I'm using blank 'Ghost White' PBT caps.

So... when I got on this Mech KB train, I figured that 60% was the lowest I'd go.

Boy was I wrong.

Clockwise from lower left:

  • kb45p - just finished tonight. Now I need some caps!
  • Planck
  • miniVan
  • JD45
  • JD45 - Bluetooth and wooden case mod

Someone sent me a JD40 PCB but I didn't want to buy a case so I made one.

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

A planck with zealios and keycaps from an atari 800, a c64, and a couple of SA grab bag caps for the thumb keys. The mitsumi hybrid switch keys are using the shapeways adaptor somebody designed over on deskauthority. The 1.5s work because those keys have two posts but only use one even in their natural habitat. I showed the underside of one of them to see.

Don't be afraid that I raided those nice old machines for the caps, they both came off of broken keyboards I found on the bay.

All of the alpha keys are from the atari except for "f" and j which are from the c64 and work as homing keys My keymap main layer is mostly what you see on the keys. The arrow cluster is on the right. The yellow keys are all space function keys which raise or lower layers based on the arrow. The end key is command.
