DCD Sample Part 2 (8/30/23)

There are good and bad news. Overall I'm happy.
The good: overall looks amazing and DROP is working on getting the color right.
The bad: As you can see in Picture 1. The color didnt come out right. So we are getting a new sample.

Picture 1: the blank cap is the final color. As you can see the set it's more brownish.

*Pictures taken by me. Also lighting is hard. Sorry for the mismatch between lighting.
*For this round of samples of DCD the goal was to get it color match. Its just a tiny bit off so we are getting one more round a bit more lighter.

UPDATE 6/20/23
First of all I want to say sorry for the delay, but colormatching is hard. Most colors were approved on R1. But the Teal color took 4 rounds.
- Im getting one more sample about the font sizes once I get that the set will be ready for the full sample set.
- Hibi Collab SOONTM
- This should run within the next 3 Months on DROP

Update 12/14/22

I was approached by DROP to run this in DCD which is their dye-sub profile. I can see pros and cons with this.
+Fast lead time
+Samples right away
-I know how people feels with DROP as well

For what I have seen their QC hasnt been bad.
I would like to know what you guys think?

-I should be getting the Plastic chips for the set as well by the end of the day!
-Ill be updating probably tomorrow or later tonight the post with the latest updated kitting wise.

-Changed base kit changed to regular icon mods
-Add new Novelties + Bird Mods
-Add new Accents Mods
-Added Colors

make the colors on the keyset more like the colors on the deskmat. Could have something cool but its bland rn IMO

The mat is awesome, the subs are cool and you’ve clearly put a lot of work into them. I would recommend choosing a dye sub manufacturer though and maybe lean into the crazy colorful mat and offer some colored mods or something

Very nice. I know I always ask for _Ñ_ on the international kits, but that ISO birb is just lovely. Edit: I didn't mention the deskmats which is also very neat

Personally I like the minimalism of the set as it will contrast with the busy deskmat very well.

I haven't wanted a set/deskmat combo in a while so this is very cool

Usually not into busy deskmats but this is amazing. Very interested in the set as well, not sure if I would join GB or wait for extras with current GMK lead times.

Would love to see 1.25U/1.5U r4 novelties. Maybe red trees to match the jungle theme.

I'm no injection mould, but are you sure those mods are actually doable? Seems like there's a lot of very thin lines and tight angles.

Looks doable to me, worst case would require to just make them slightly thicker/larger

The point of it was to make good contrast with the deskmat and keep the set itself simple. For people who would like more colors on the set im working on an accent kit and not the same one kit thats on the post right now.

Changes incoming:
-Bird Icon mods are going to the Novelty Kit + they are getting other novelties for the Ctrl, alt, etc.
-Icon only mods are replacing Bird icon mods.
-Ñ is coming SoonTM
-The current Macros + accents is dead. The macros are going to the novelties kit and the Accent kit will be totally new with more colors.

Update time:

Still havent decided on the manu. I was hoping to get better feedback than just stick GMK. I was never sold on the idea of GMK to be begin with.
I can see way more Pros of going with any Dye sub Manu. For faster lead times and samples. I would love the idea to run it with GMK but im not sure if its the right moment as of now.

Faster lead times? Unlikely
Colours? Worse
Clarity of legends? Worse
Potential for issues? Much higher

Even with samples many recent PBT sets have had issues. At least with GMK they will nail your pantone if you have the chips to support what you want to achieve. If anything just make sure the renders you have already done look somewhat like the physical samples you plan to match to.

Yes the set is going to be full dye sub. I forgot to change that from the IC.

Update:
The full samples kits are under FedEx right now. I'm picking them up on Sunday.
