Typical cost is $35 per legend, $45 if it's complex (seems likely none of these will be).  tsangan said $10 as a volume discount for doing them all at once, but I forget if that was something he got first-hand from Melissa or just read somewhere.

Jesuswasazombie was quoted $10 each for line SVGs IIRC from the dolce replica IC.

Regardless how much it will be, if we make it around $20 per key, plus the naming right auction, plus $0.50 to $1.00 per set donations from the next few keycap group buys, I think we will have enough.

BTW, I am happy to organize this adoption drive.  It would be great if someone else can collect the money and be the escrow manager.

The first group buy to use this YOURNAMEHERE Cherry Legend set should be the Dolch replica group buy.  After all, the Dolch replica keycap group buy started this thread.

I'd put it in my pipe and smoke it.

...

But no cigar.

I don't smoke pipes or cigars.  They are damned close.  This isn't a car show, is it?

It had better be the black/dark gray set. I'll be all over that like a dirty shirt.

It has to be someone trustworthy.  Someone the whole community can trust.  iMav? :baby:

Some notable keycaps that are in need of an adopted parent:

6, 7
a lot of function keys (think of some of the more important function keys that you use daily)
the complete arrow key cluster!  ZOMG!
ENTER!!!
Someone need to adopt the whole numpad!  Someone who is a die hard 104 key keyboard.  An accountant?  A mutual fund manager?  Or a bank teller?
?/  Really?  Not even the Riddler question mark?
|\  Someone gets this before KL comes in here!
Backspace, that is better than the spacebar I tell you!

Would we need to pay for more than one legend for the different types of enter keys?  What about other ANSI vs non-ANSI variants (or are we not going there at all)?

List is current again.  don't forget to bid the naming right!  You guys want Nighted to get away with just $100 for the naming right of this set?

52 keys have parents now.  But 48 keys still need a good home!

Enter is part of moogle3 as well, actually.  Still, it doesn't hurt to fund the moogle3 keys as there's no guarantee yet that anything beyond the standard moogle kit will actually get produced.  It all depends on how many get ordered.

Woot!  BIOS INT obscura.  Takes me back to college when we wire-wrapped an 8088-based board and had to write an OS for it.  It's kicking around here somewhere....

Seeing Ripster has already posted my comparison pic I'd also be able to provide detailed macro shots of every key for the svg designers if that would help them.
Given we don't get the original font somewhere. I want this to be as close to Cherry as humanly possible.

That would be fantastic.  I'm currently working with scans.  Enter, Backspace, Tab, and Backslash/Pipe would be very helpful for starters.

I should just leave that to you since I am rather inexperienced. I would offer to help, but I'm not sure that you would need it.

I would assume that the legends would be for group buy on GH.  If they ask, I think we would consider it.  This adoption is for everyone on here.  We don't know what and how Kbdmania did.  For all we know it was done by one guy.  I think we should work toward expanding our keyboard community across the world, be more inclusive.
