It doesn't really make sense that you get asked to answer the USB question every single time you post something... It's good to prevent bots from registering, but not more than once.

After a few posts you stop having to answer it; its only because you are new :D
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

I never had to answer any questions to post when I joined, I guess it wasn't implemented back then.

It's an SMF thing...part of the spam defense.
