which profiles do GMK offer?

The one and only Cherry Profile  ;D

Hey I just saw their PDF and they have the same profiles as what SP is doing, is this for real or some sort of sick joke?

What do you mean?

The DCS profile SP is doing is a bad copy of the original Cherry profile. Although it's quite similar there are a couple of tiny differences like the "angle" of the keycaps. This and obviously GMK keys are way thicker and therefore just feel better and more durable.

Not referring to DCS profile (world's worst profile that was ever created for the MX switch) the PDF specified http://www.gmk-electronic-design.de/fileadmin/user_upload/Produktblaetter/PerformanceSheet_keycaps.pdf has pics showing "Standard M8" which looks like an SA Profile (please note the slanted view point of the 'E' cap).

Please take a look and let me know if I am totally blind or insane (or both).

Yes, you're right. These are spherical caps just like the Filco DS spherical caps or SP's SA profile.

Let's just assume they are bad ass too. After all they are from GMK! :p

I will definitely ask GMK for a sightseeing tour when I am around there next time  :)

Is this turning into another "**** on SP" thread"? Orig Cherry and GMK DS is some high quality stuff, no doubt, but DSA caps are not crap quality caps. i know everyone here is going ape**** crazy over possible affordable GMK sets (me included), but i was actually looking forward to more DSA and SA sets. I'm seriously glad BunnyLake did DSA on this, it doesn't sound like he would do DSA ever again (and possibly SP ever again) so im glad that this set of all sets was done in DSA.

no sp negativity from me, im not one of those guys thats gmk only, i actually like different keys on different switches, as for my move, i just wanna move and try something different and evolve, im not saying never sp again, i just wanna try something new

there are also lots of sa/dsa sets coming up right now from people, so plenty of options

ive said it before, but hyper fuse was really my passion project, its the set i made just for me, exactly as i would want a set, and im just really happy so many people have got behind it and grateful for all the positive feedback

I love my DSA Hyper Fuse set and would not want it to be any other way.  It's perfect in it's DSA-ness, if I can put it that way.  The profile, the legends, the symmetry.  GMK caps are great, but it's nice to break up the monotone and use some other shapes and styles--just look at how amazing old-style tall spherical caps look on Hall Effect keyboards and such.  Thanks to SP, we can still get that look to some extent with SA keycaps.  DSA has a bit of an old typewriter look to it.

We are all just excited Bunny will offer GMK sets soon. I have like 15 SP sets, but not a single GMK set except for Ivan's Modifiers. So naturally I am looking forward to the new options. I hope Bunny goes for something like the Triumph Adler style  ;D

Oh that keyboard...  That's my dream set there.  I've been talking to Lysol about it too.  The teal is a result of sun damage / yellowing on the original light blue, but I love the teal result.  Would have to request a custom color, as GMK doesn't offer teal as a standard color, and they may not be receptive to making a new color and still keeping the 250-set MOQ (unverified, just a guess).

Don't worry BunnyLake if anyone dares to slag off this key-set, they shall be escorted to a small back shed, in my yard that has two ravenous Pitbulls starving for anti-Hyper scumbags.

The result of that meeting shall be one less anti-hyper supporter and 2 marginally full pitbulls.  Need we say more  :thumb:

Everyone shall LOVE the HYPER key-set here on Geekhack  8) .

yeah im sorry about the delay once again, i havent actually been able to catch up with raccoon for a few days, i know he is real busy with real life and school right now but itll be moving again soon

updatewise about half of the conus/canada orders are out, all of eu is out, and the asian orders have been received by the proxy, and are being sent out once the chinese festival ends, i believe he told me they would all ship on the 10th of this month so any day now

part of the delay on this has been the cables we offer, i think because of the price, its a very high percentage of orders that take the matching cable, and obviously thatts very time consuming for raccoon to make, and i dont think initially he thought it would take as long as they did, i know that all of them are finished now and when we last spoke he had all the packaging materials needed, so its just about as he finds time around his schooling and life to get some more of these out, i know he is looking forward to getting this finished though and it is a priority to him

thanks to all of you for your patience in this matter

I know Hyper Fuse is real cause of the glorious pictures showing up in this thread, and I know a set will make it to me eventually - plenty enough to keep me happy. I definitely wouldn't want anyone to put keycaps & cables ahead of (more important) real life matters - plus, it gives me some time to figure out what color to dip my case  :thumb:

if you're trying to color match the set the purple is way easier to match from the current photos. The Cyan is way more green than it looks on the screen.

Ohh good to know, thanks! I actually ordered a can of "intense teal" and one of "pure purple" - no idea what any of this really looks like in person since my monitors are all over the place right now (colorwise), but worst case scenario I'm going to have some fun with the old black widow fingerprint magnet. BTW, I *love* that purple GON skinny you have, so freakin sharp with Hyper Fuse on it!

Yeah you have to give the Raccoon some leave way as he now has to make all those extra cables as well as sort and ship everyone's orders.  Poor guy, too much has been piled upon his shoulders and it would drive any normal person into an early heart attack.

More power to you buddy, just make sure you have some time to enjoy a drink or two along the way.......  ;) .

Just tried my DSA set on my new filco MJ2 and none of the stabilizers for the 8 keys fit. This a key issue or a board issue? Anyone else experiencing this? This even the right place for this question?

I've used a DSA set on a Filco before (DSA Retro) and had no issues with stabilizers.  Are you inserting the white stabilizer inserts the right way?  Make sure the longer part of the hook faces upward (away from you when on the keyboard).

Do you mean the stabilizer inserts? If so, mine were loose too and it's easily fixed by putting a small square of tape over the insert to fill the extra space.

I've used a DSA set on a Filco before (DSA Retro) and had no issues with stabilizers.  Are you inserting the white stabilizer inserts the right way?  Make sure the longer part of the hook faces upward (away from you when on the keyboard).

They are set correct. At first I thought they weren't even lining up. I ended up removing them and hand test fitting them in the keys and there is no interference, they fall right out of the bottom of the key.

Ok. I should have done this before posting but I just tried a few different stabs in a bunch of other keys I have from keypop, techkeys, clack, gas mask, other sp dcs and sa, oem profile keys, etc. No fit.
They do fit nice and snug in the stock filco keys and the couple of wasd keys I have. They kind if fit in my leo keys, but not quite tight enough. They don't fit my poker II keys either. The hyper keys themselves do fit nice on the cherry stabs in my poker and leo.
My mj2 unboxing was to find this out it seems.
Maybe I'll try some replacement inserts from WASD.

Yes. I meant the inserts themselves. It's a bit maddening spending this much money on a new board and keys to have to do something like putting tape on it.

Thanks for your replies.

I wouldn't worry about it too much -- this is a very common thing to do :)

This is my first experience with a group by kit so I didn't know what to expect. Also first time using costar.

"Nothing fits! OMG what do I do?!"
put some tape on it
 It was too simple.

A few wraps of white plumbers tape and everything is nice and tight. I had originally placed this on my poker for a bit and decided to go with the filco. Now seeing the full set laid out on a 104 it just looks so much better to me. Also, I prefer blues on here over the reds.

Looks really good  :thumb:

The only thing that looks odd to me is the "0" key on the numpad. I wonder why it has the modifier colors while the DCS version is "normal"?!

Thank you.

I wondered the same thing when putting the keys on, double checked my bags and then referenced the pic in the OP and that's what it shows.
"0" key and both the 1x "0" "00"

Damn! Now I keep staring at it. :-X

Sorry for attracting your attention to this :p Little details like this bother me like crazy to the point where I don't use entire sets because of it...

Maybe someone can donate a blank 2x ergodox key to you?!

Didn't think of that. For me a blank key would be more off than an odd colored properly marked key.

I may put the gray geekhack key in place of the "." key just to close it up. For me the overall beauty of this set overshadows that one detail.

You are right, this would be a good solution because it makes the set look consistent again  :thumb:

Good thing DSA allows switching of keycaps without worrying about different rows or profiles :)

well remembered sir

the secret keys were geekhack keys in in the other allt colors, so purple with green and green with purple

however, they got missed off the order somehow, so they are being done currently, and as literally under 10 people qualified for them, i will be sending them upon arrival at no extra cost, i was hoping this would be missed and they would show up to people as a nice surprise

in other news

more us orders went out today

and the shipping should be concluding very soon
