I have had this idea since the inception of GMK 8008, but decided to wait to see the success of the keyset.
These will have the Gateron logo on top, unlike the renders above.

I love this, as a big fan of inks, I'm really curious to see how opaque inks feel, and I love the colors of 8008, so this looks perfect to me.

I was gonna buy inks for my 8008 build anyway, so this perfect! I would prefer the stiffer spring, though. Yellow springs are ok, but the blacks are a bit more up my alley.

Why are these ink switches? I thought ink was just gateron's name for their color tinted polycarb (clear) switches. Aren't these just a custom color like linjar?

I've had a lot of issues with milky gaterons lately so Either way is fine with me, as long as it's not milky material.

I actually prefer it the way it is because then, when the switches are installed, you just get that light grey border surrounding the blue-grey top housing. I agree that standalone and uninstalled the two tone housing is a tad jarring though.

This also confused me. I mean linjar switches were only $0.35/piece at an MOQ of 20,000 and these are over double the price for 5 times the MOQ, so I would hope that they are legit inks at that price.

The legs on my milky gat tops got loose after modding them last time I built with them, but I haven't seen any issues in day-to-day usage.

Definitely interested in this. I assume you've reached out to gateron to ensure that "Ink" switches are possible with opaque housings and that it won't effect smoothness/feel? Also any idea if the yellow springs would be coated with the same black coating that stock inks have?

What is the difference between FEI/Tang/Linjars and these?

Is the actual housing mold different between Inks and the other Gat Linears? Because these won't come with Ink springs either?

I'm struggling to see what makes these Inks over the FEI/Tang/Linjars. I'm sure there is something I am missing - so some clarification would be great.

I understand the interest in what makes these inks. The Gateron contact themselves used the term "Opaque Ink" switch and they are quoted like the ink switches. So I had no doubt that these are the same "premium" mixture that is in the inks we all know and love, but just opaque. However, before the IC, I did not specifically request an actual confirmation on it. The use of the term "Opaque Ink" by Gateron and the quote insured me they were more than just recolored normal Gateron Opaque housings.

I have reached out with this specific question, because I do not want to give a definitive answer to everyone's question, when I don't have the actual information. So I hope you can bear with me while I wait for that information.
