Adapt PS2 keyboards to LINK and WYSE terminals
« on: Mon, 03 August 2020, 09:13:36 »
hi there!

I own two "dumb" terminals (LINK MC420 A/S and WYSE WY185) but i can't find its keyboards. :(

Is there a way to adapt "old PS2 keyboards" or "USB (new ones)" to use on these VT100 terminals?

thanks in advance.

Soarer & Hasu would be the ones to ask as they are heavy in converting old/proprietary protocols into something we can use today. So if anyone understands how these old boards worked it's these guys.

You could also probably find original keyboards on ebay.

I have a keyboard that should be compatible. It's a shame most of these keyboards meet the hot end of a soldering iron for their "buttery smooth" switches. Mine is a bit newer (1998) and not externally branded 'WYSE' so it lacked the vintage switches and was spared from destruction.

Edit: the plug is a 4 pin telephone connector
