[IC] PBS Goblin Mode

PBS Goblin Mode
A goblin inspired uniform profile PBT set!

The Kit

Everything you'll need in your inventory. PBS being uniform allows this kit to cover the vast majority of keyboards. Note that this set does NOT utilize a full convex bottom row like MV classic- keeping the entire set row agnostic. The custom icons are meant to be a bit whimsical, evoking the idea of magic runes.

Photos
Sample photos! You may notice some legend errors- these are prototype keys that were made for color accuracy and so I could see the quality of dyesub. Please refer to the above kit image for the current legends, legend sizes, and legend alignment! Example changes- ! and ? were slightly scaled up and the enter novelty is centered based on the goblin itself rather than the entire legend.

Deskmat COMING SOON

For those that haven't tried PBS, the phrase "super comfy" is an understatement. After using it for a week it made cherry feel uncomfortable by comparison

Novelties are cute as heck! GLWIC

Granted they're icons so you can just swap them; how come it's win instead of ctrl 1.75u?
Is the singular "ansi pipe" 1.5 win just a catch-all or does it serve a specific purpose? Why not just make 2x 1.5u win in that case so it'll cover hhkb (again, you could always use the ctrl as it's icons but ...)
A mod color kit would be be fun, certainly not a dealbreaker though!
Personally would've skipped light-coloured wasd, but if there's demand/personal choice it's fine
I agree with doubling up on smaller bars

Good catch on both of those, the 1.75 should be the other icon and there should be 2 of those 1.5s… got my wires crossed counting the icons there.
Some early feedback I’ve gotten from a couple people is to swap the ctrl and win icons entirely because square looks like windows so that may happen if enough people request it.

The “gamer” wasd is a personal choice (requested by my wife) and won’t affect the retail price. If it turns out I need to cut things they would be the first to go though.

Would be an insta-buy if there is a novelty enter key that says " RIP Fartbuckle"

First of all thanks for all the support and thank you everyone who has submitted feedback! I’ve gotten many responses to the form, instagram dms, and discord messages.

First and foremost- I’ve heard you loud and clear 40s folks! I’ll be adding a separate ortho/40s base. It should look very very similar to MV Classics

Second: I’ll definitely be adding more novs!

These were the two most common requests I got

If you requested things like for me to change the theme or profile… no :)

Some early feedback I’ve gotten from a couple people is to swap the ctrl and win icons entirely because square looks like windows so that may happen if enough people request it.
I agree with this. The square block icon is visually heavier due the large dark square, so I would personally prefer it in the Win key position, whereas the triangular symbol feels more balanced in the typical bottom row configuration.
Furthermore the Control key is commonly represented with the ^ Caret symbol which is triangular looking too.

It's always nice to see unique modifier icon legends (and in this case, it makes the whole design a lot cuter). This is subjective, but here's some minor suggestions:
- Function/Menu key legend - make the centre horizontal line dark instead
- Shift legend - make them outline instead of in-fill - seems a little more consistent with the other modifier icon legends if they're in-fill, however I understand why you would choose to keep them in-fill.
- Del icon legend - I find the dark dot placement above the X seems a bit forced. Perhaps remove it, and make 2 of the diagonal line arms darker (either >, or \)

I'm not an ISO user, but I think they would be sad if there's no ISO enter novelty.

Shift: I completely understand this feedback- I polled a large number of my keycap designer friends with rough renders using both filled, outline, and a third option where they were a sort of disconnected outline and almost everyone preferred the filled version

Del: I probably won’t be changing this unless I get several more requests for it. I did try recoloring 2 arms and it ends up looking a bit like a % or ><

Win/Ctrl: definitely going to swap these and  just to offer both assuming it doesn’t change retail price. Funny the square started out as a carat that I slowly edited and added and rotated, and the current win icon started out as the something inspired by the Mac  clover that I slowly bastardized into this. One of those scenarios where I’ve looked at it so much I needed fresh sets of eyes to point out the similarities.
