Title: Improvement over Hunstman V2 TKL?
Post by: Fandom on Sat, 04 February 2023, 15:45:56
Hi folks,

I’m looking for a keyboard mainly for typing and a bit of gaming. Here are the specs I look for:
- as quiet as possible, no ping
- TKL or smaller
- PBT key caps with soft touch
- RGB or not does not matter
- gasket mount sounds interesting, may be worth trying

I’ve been trying out a Razer Hunstman V2 and it has a couple of things bothering me, mainly the silly stabilizers on all keys making it a rattling mess, and the pretty rough texture PBT caps.

Can you recommend an upgrade? I’ve also been using a Durgod K320 which is much more crisp than the Razer but pingy as hell.

If you're looking for a budget option?
Keychron V1/V2/Vwhatevertickles your fancy = 64$
Cheap Aliexpress PBT caps = 25$ or so
And you didn't specify if you wanted tactiles or linears so
Tactiles: Haimu whispers
Linear: Haimu Heartbeats
Both cost the same (.30 Cents per switch)
I haven't tried those switches but I've heard good things
Krytox 205g0 =8-15 bucks depending on where you look
Lube the stock stabs, fill it full of foam or polyfill, tape mod it, lube the switches if you're feeling fancy (not sure they need lube)
Boom, very basic, entry level, but it'll work.
