I thought that too - saw "Looking to sell the following clacks ..." and then the pic of 15 of them, and I was like wow!

Then I saw the "... all are Topre" bit.  After that I was the list of those actually for sale.

sigh

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

these are the standard clacks I believe.. there are some with the translucent clacks, which are uber rare. I believe they can fetch between $250-$1000

Well a lot of those sure went fast. I would love to buy one, but I get the distinct feeling I would regret it eventually.

Where's the 3D love?  These were all the raeg around the time I joined, IIRC.

@Brink they are only for sale randomly I believe
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Why are you asking this in my FS thread?

Because it is related to the item you are selling and it is a question you might know the answer to? Also, maybe if the answer was "not for a very long time", it might entice me to buy one of your 4x the value Clacks.

And if the question was rhetorical, then chill out. Nothing wrong with a free bump.

That is fine and I understand that. Did not want to step on any toes. Just saying I really like them (specifically the colors for sale here) and maybe tell the seller what  a great item he put up for sale.

If you buy Topre then you can trade them for MX :)

If this were easy to do I may be interested. But my guess would be the trade would be easier if it were the other way around, and potentially harder since I am in Europe. Also, now I am worried about issues of entitlement.

I understand some people here feel that you need to be entitled to get some things. That is fine and I can understand that. Did not want to step on any toes. Just saying I really like them (specifically the colors for sale here) that is all.

I don't think jcrouse meant it like that. These have been for sale for longer than you've been here that's all. If they were MX they would of been sold on the same day they were put up for sale.

Not particularly, it just adds a decent amount, somehow $70 seems like a lot bigger number than $55.

Any chance of an upskirt pic to show the paint underneath?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I am getting subliminal negative connotations from your avatar ;) but thank you.

With no Topre keyboard, I am still somewhat tempted.

Grats.  I wouldn't worry about the upskirt shot then ;)

Sorry for the "Thread Crapping". Report me, if you see so fit. I was answering your question of  "You think that is expensive for international shipping?". Most people are not used to paying $15 for such a small item to arrive at their door. The $55 was a fair market value, but the $15 shipping was what killed it for many buyers.
EDIT: If you want to continue talking about this, lets go to PM as to avoid your threadcrapping.

All of which could be discussed in a PM as to not dissuade a potential sale because your opinion on the matter doesn't agree with the sellers.

MMB, he asked a question. I answered it, now if honesty about price is thread crapping, then oh well.

Pretty sure he meant it as "You think that is expensive for international shipping?"
