bump up, if you have questions please ask! I still have lots of work to do on the pictures, but the albums have lots of pictures and files describe everything.

OK, this must be the most ridiculous (and customer confidence-busting) reason ever to bump up a selling post, but it is here:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=81369.0

G-Damn Paypal account limited.

Unless I can get some good suggestions on what to do, I'll have to refund a lot of people and only do business with those who can pay via bank transfer.

On the bright side for those who are willing to pay via bank transfer, I'm desperate to clear at least my bulky buckling spring boards, so these will be heavily discounted going forward.

Bump for attention

Newest Update:

Due to ongoing problems with paypal, nearly all deals are off and payments have been refunded.

I will be looking into Moneygram, Western Union, Bank Transfer or bitcoin shortly.

Prices will be severely slashed on the keyboards thread and for some keycaps because I am running out of time. Everything must go.

The threads will be updated when I have time. Nearly everything in the /docx files will be available again!

sigh

I know I'll be accused of bumping up my own post, but these need to be said:

1) not everything is free (duh)

2) most of the free stuff, as you can see if you bother to read my thread, are for the less popular models or keyboard kits/ half done projects. Yes, you can get FREE NIB keyboards of very high quality - but I'm talking about layouts like Model M-122s.

Is M-122 trash? It is NOT trash. It is more functional than Model M SSK, just takes up more space. Is there no one in the world who will pay shipping for a brand new M-122?

The rest are just very cheap - far below market prices, because I want to move everything come may 2.

If you are not willing to pay a small fraction of market prices for something, you will never do. I suggest you sit on that department store Santa during Christmas. At least you get a lollipop free.

3) I appreciate people who actually read my thread. I am not taking paypal. Dozens of people don't seem to be capable of reading the big words in blue at the top of my OPs, but they can zoom straight in and find something free far below in the thread.

4) I appreciate people who make the effort to find what they want for free or cheap. Why must I hold your hand and guide you through my collection? Somebody just PMed me with a couple lines, wanting me to describe the condition of all my Model Fs and Filcos.

Considering how cheap they are, can you please download and read my docx files to see the details? I have very detailed descriptions of what I did. Must I write essays and beg people to pay for shipping on keyboards that I am selling at over 70% loss and which I have worked on for many days each?

I was talking to my cousin and he would like the White on White PBT caps. He may also want a teensy for a project that he'll be working on, but I have to confirm with him this evening.

Personally I would probably like one of the Tai-hao sets, but undecided on colour yet.

If I see anything else that I would like, I'll send you a PM with an update.

Please refer to my other post/PM for the sale/shipping. :)

just noticed this

I have a tight schedule these two weeks which is why I am not shipping for anyone until May 2.

That also goes for local pickup.

Won't be at home, simple as that.

And no, I don't encourage people to call dibs. I can't monitor all threads. Most dib callers never come through anyway. I just made a comment that said call dibs if you like but only those who pay get stuff.

(non paypal means of payment will get more discounts just because I'm pissed at paypal. They wasted a lot of my time, as well as my buyers' time.)

announcement
« Reply #68 on: Sun, 24 April 2016, 11:46:36 »
Just an announcement

I just realized that May 2, 2016 is a public holiday in my country.

I will be working on May 3 and pretty much every day after that, with few breaks.

Therefore I have roped in relatives and family members to assist with the shipping. If you paid before 22 April, most packages should go out 27 or 29 April. If you paid after 22 April, I will still try to get your stuff out in the same batch, but shipping may take place May 3.

If you want to change any order, you have until 25 April (tomorrow) to notify me. After that your shipping will be delayed to May 3. Please avoid changing orders because it leads to confusion.
To keep people from having to wait too long, earlier orders will be prioritized. Also prioritized will be orders that have to go to more distant countries.

You will be given the tracking number. Please follow the instructions on my shipping post https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=78531.msg2071707#msg2071707, and use the tracking number on either the Singpost.com or Speedpost.com.sg website. Once tracking says ‘accepted at the post office’, it’s out of my hands.

sad reply to some guy who seems humble and interested, but is a noob with zero posts ie high risk of not understanding what he wants to buy.

I am not taking paypal anymore thanks to too many buyers whom I fear would not be satisfied. Sorry. Basically I have lots of inquiries from kids who don't seem to know what they are buying, so I don't want to do business with them. High risk of pp complaint.

EG it is your responsibility to find out what lubed clears are. I do have a brief explanation of mods on my thread, but ultimately I do not know if you like lubed clears and have no time to tell you what they are like. You can't just buy stuff because it's cheap otherwise you may regret. There are people who hate clears, for instance.

So don't send me money unless you have done your homework. You can't file complaint on a moneygram payment, so you have to actually think carefully about whether you want a particular mod or board.

Many of my stuff is highly usable, but not necessarily suitable for a buyer with specific and strong opinions on what he wants from a keyboard.

Sorry, these are for sale. I used to do lots of small sales on gh just for the conversation with people from all over the world.

when I get more time in future I'll continue to do small sales on small items until all are gone. It's just a little pastime, not as if I make any money from it.

I’m under pressure because wife is actually very angry at a lot of things to do with my keyboard hobby.

Ranging from, nasty dremeling sounds of metal on metal.

To drilling sounds.

To paint fumes.

To soldering fumes.

To wasted time when I could be doing home repairs and other things befitting a grown man.

I broke many promises 'this is my last keyboard, no more drilling'. She hates my modded boards more than the cockroaches in the house.

And now I have asked wife and relatives to pack for me when I’m at work, since I have long hours during the weekends/holidays when I get more work.

Packing is not a pleasant job at all with so many orders, changed orders, customized orders, things that must be found and retrieved from many separate boxes, etc. The kids think it is great fun, but the adults are very mad at me for my folly.

My domestic life is teethering on a thread.

When I promise to get rid of Big Things, I must get rid of Big Things.

Whatever doesn’t make it to the post office by close of office hours on May 3, might be hosted in a relative’s place until we have time to write customs forms and go to the post office. NOT IN MY HOUSE.

ONE BOX is all I get to keep.

Many old Geekhackers have the same problem. Fohat and Henz both tell me their wives are giving them hell with regards to old keyboards.

Ps just because I say I get to keep one box and can sell small stuffs next month, doesn’t mean I am going to entertain the kind of orders I used to process in the past when someone can just ask for 1 jailhoused switch and I would send it to him FOC. Not going to rummage through my one huge box to pull out one switch.

Also if no one has noticed, I am taking paypal now. Just going to delete PMs from kids who don’t sound as though they know what they want.  It is amazing that after weeks of me ranting online about troublesome buyers, there are still people who PM me laundry lists, essays, question bombardments, stream-of-consciousness musings about what they might want if only they had the money, etc.

Hello, if you have no money to even pay shipping, musing about what you might want doesn’t get you something just like that! I don’t do that for my kids, why should I do it for you? I am fed up with talking with someone who wants x, y, z free, I help him plan out a 5kg box, and when I say ok that’s $62 shipping to USA, you feign to be shocked that you have to pay shipping.

I’m blue and my house is now like a rubbish bin. I’m Gutz the Grouch, NOT SANTA CLAUS!

Is the Ducky Thick PBT black on yellow a full 104/108 set?  Or just a TKL set?

Can't see if numpad keycaps are included from the picture.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to.
