Looks like a nice keyboard.  I don't like fullsize so I won't be buying one, but it seems to be good design.

Looks clean.  I still think the bulge on the bezel takes away from the silhouette, though.

Ugh @ footbar. Not good for people (like me) who tuck the legs of their monitor under the keyboard in the gap between the feet, so that the monitor can be further forward. The fact that the footbar can double as a ruler is kinda cool, though.

More minus points for the upper surface of the case extending outwards of the sides. Looks like it will hurt both device life (because of wires/hands/other objects getting caught beneath it and tossing the keyboard around) and comfort.

Overall, I don't see this new model as an improvement.

Looks really good, although part of me still likes the old design more. More minimalistic although this does look more modern.

Still to expensive for me to purchase one though :(

Is it actually aluminum?  I was wondering about that too but there isn't anywhere on the website that says it's aluminum.

And knowing Das I'd assume they'd advertise it if it actually is indeed aluminum.  Anyone know?

it says in the item discription: Anodized aluminium top panel
i think it is the top layer (see item page, 2nd pic), there is a very thin matte black layer. jt is aluminum.

The ruler sounds like a gimmick to me...

I do like they've designed the case bottom (plastic), to be 'resonance free' though.

Smooth, with a capital smoo.

Also looks like a standard ANSI layout - keycap replacers rejoice!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The dimensions on the height can't possibly be correct?  .80"?  IF true this would make it thinner than the G80-38XX series (1.10")

2cm height before the footbar doesn't seem too improbable, does it?

I'm also curious what material the footbar will be made of. Just from looking at the pictures, it'll probably slide around your desk like all Ducky keyboards with their feet raised up.

It doesn't seem possible.  If it is, those switches must be mounted to the bottom of the case and/or has some sort of Cherry profile keycap.

For reference the G80-38XX is 1.1", Topre TypeHeaven/WASD V2 1.2".  These are the lowest profile Cherry/Topre boards you can get now.

Looking at the pictures again, I think they measured the height of the frame only, and didn't include keycap height.

Was not a fan of the original design, but this one looks great.  Very stylish.  They even made that top right protrusion on the case, which I found out of place before, contain meaningful parts so it looks very much integral to the overall design now.
