I have to laugh. This poll is pretty indicative that someone (or some people) went out of their way to really vote numerous of times for Icon mods.

Because once the corrected poll came into effect, Text mods appear to be much more popular.

The fact text only is ahead and by that much is actually tragic.

Well, Space Cadet IS a set historically associated with text legends. It'll be fine as long as there are no romantic numerals on it.

Now, let us all go design a GMK ICONSICONSICONS keycap set (with supporting modifier kits), so we can have every single non-alpha, non-F key be an icon, as the gods themselves ordain! (or something like that)

Never gonna live down the romantic numerals typo

GMK Icons, with no Latin characters and just cadet symbols on alphas and icon mods. Fack escape key.

I really like darker blue accents in striker, maybe this set could get some darker red accents too?

My worry about that is the darker mods and lighter alphas may end up looking like an inverse of GMK Jámon. I like the monochrome nature of the set.

I like the monochrome nature of the set.

Same, I’m fine with optional add one, but would prefer the base stay as is personally. If an add on for accents hits MOQ, great, but I personally would no longer be interested with dark accents in the base.

The accents in Striker were only an escape and an enter key IIRC. I don't think two additional keys would radically change the kit price or make it look like subprime cut of Jamón :p

It wouldn’t. There’s a big difference between having two keys accented vs. all the modifiers. I like the Striker accents as well, I’d be curious a white base accent key would be different enough to ease the Jamon nightmares some people havin.

I have some vague memory of Oblotsky saying there might be two colors in the future and one was crimson. tbh i think there's at least 10 colors that could make MOQ.

A week ago, I bought a red-anodized 4mm Sol 2 plate from RGBKB, hoping that there would be a compatible kit with this keyset. (Mass)drop also has red-anodized Planck cases too for the next few weeks too. Fingers crossed...

Oof, MOQ is higher than total number of vote responses. Hopefully it still pans out, everything looks great.

Id imagine you have a group of potential buyers who didn't have a preference of mod style thus didn't feel the need to vote.

@Oblotzky nice update!  Any chance you can add a stepped control key. If not then I’ll keep my tsangan layout for thermal. Only reason I wouldn’t get hhkb layout is I find that there are keycap designers that don’t add stepped control key. Otherwise I’m still in and excited for this set.

I've opted to have only the Rub Out keys for Caps Lock, there are no Control, Function or actual Caps Lock keys.

If anyone is like me and was wondering what the meaning/significance of Rub Out is, I stumbled upon a very interesting explanation of the keys in/history of Space Cadet: https://retrocomputing.stackexchange.com/a/496

Ergo is really hard to push to MOQ. I don't want to have vendors buy out MOQ and then have those kits sit in their warehouse forever (I still have 5 kits of GMK Calm Depths Assembly and MyKeyboard.eu still has some stock left as well). I'm staying away from odd layouts for GB's outside of Drop for the time being, sorry.

Remember back when GBs featuring anodized grey cases just called them "Grey" instead of "Space Grey"? It seems like a long time ago. GMK Space Cadet did that. Now, there's a Red Planck case available for pre-order on Drop, and RGBKB is naming the red variant of their Sol 2 plates "Space Red" - Seems like the future or ergo/ortho GBs could be colored Crimson too, if the kit was there... ;)
