Post by: nanovolt on Mon, 11 February 2019, 06:11:22
this is the switch that puzzles me

(https://gd1.alicdn.com/imgextra/i1/1713761720/TB2HF.3asnI8KJjSspeXXcwIpXa_!!1713761720.jpg)

I could not find its caps in Taobao.
I also could not find its datasheet in KaiLH website
http://www.kailh.com/en/Products/Mechanical_keyboard_switch/165.html

they must be very unpopular? or stupid expensive?

I saw them here

Two years ago I get mines directly from Bella Hwang who work for Kailh directly on skype and I paid by paypal,

I think it’s a commercial account and not a real name but I can say that this was 100% safe and 100% weird :p.

Here is some information for contact it :

Price were :

The exw price is 200*0.23USD=46USD (100 brown, 100 red switch)
Two set keycap is 2*5USD=10USD (1 set of white keycaps, 1 set of black keycaps without labels printed)
The freight to France is 22USD.

By the way I have also paid some tax (20€) and the total ammount for all of this was 90€ I think.

Now I need stabilizers for them lol…
I don’t know if this exist.

Data for the "Choc" switches here: http://www.kailh.com/en/Products/Ks/CS/
For the even smaller "Mini Choc": http://www.kailh.com/en/Products/Ks/NotebookS/647.html

But what's really missing are stabilisers and the contoured low-profile caps as are on the keyboards from Havit, Dareu and Sharkoon.

thanks for the replies peeps

@4sStylZ
the direct purchase info is useful tyvm

i found some more time to use different search terms in chinese (taobao)
TB ID 576466247445, complete set chocs 104 lettered keys looks ANSI, it says 2 shot passes LED light. but unverified. the ALT key is 1.5RU
TB ID 579756325315, single 1RU blank opaque caps.

i also found an english version of the KaiHua chinese website, this site has all the pdf specs. yay !
https://www.kailhswitch.com/

@Findecanor
mini chocs !

the normal LP appears to be 1350 (15x15mm). matches MX PCB pin and stud
the mini LP appears to be 1232 (14.5x13.5mm). does not use MX pin/stud (and no keycap selection on TB stores)
I have been considering to completely omit stabilizers (if using LP design) and use only 1RU caps, except for maybe the "enter" key

There is two things who made me crazy :

1) Where to find stabilizers.
2) I see many keyboards who have some goods keycaps for theses switchs but that’s some keycaps only designed for some brand keyboards.

I really want to build a low profile board, but there are so few PCBs and keycaps available!

I keep waiting for more of these Kailh low profile KBs to come out but sadly I'm not seeing many!

I have the ANSI version of the Havit TKL keyboard which I like but as I'm in the UK, the ANSI layout is a little annoying. They do now have an ISO UK version of this keyboard but I keep telling myself I don't need to spend another £60 on practically the same KB lol. It's a shame that Havit also used weird stems on these switches so that no other keycaps fit even if you can find them...
