Hello to all our fellow keyboard enthusiasts,
Today we would like to officially present and introduce our mechanical keyboard brand -
Ikeygai Designs, based out of Canada. The name is derived from the Japanese word, Ikigai, which translates to “a reason for being”. We instantly connected with this concept as presently we spend most of our time on our devices and a keyboard is almost an extension of ourselves. It is an expression of our personality and character. Our ideas for keyboards therefore come with a purpose of deeper meaning to its owner.
A little about us, we are two professionals with wide ranging design and manufacturing experience who fell into the universe of mechanical keyboards after it was introduced to us by a mutual friend during a tech bootcamp. Whether it be keycaps, artisans, trays, cables, favorite streamers, we now love all things mech keebs. After being a part of this community for a long time and having built and used several amazing, unique keyboards, we were inspired to put our expertise to use by designing and building our own and excited to share it with all of you.
Our principles are very straightforward - Create uniquely designed, premium quality products with a minimalistic approach.
Though this post is just an introduction, we are super pumped and excited to share in our upcoming IC posts about our first keyboard design and an artisan keycap tray. After all, no keyboard setup is complete without at least a few of our favorite artisans being showcased in a tray. So please keep an eye out for those.
We truly appreciate being a part of this community and hope that you like what we have spent months behind the scenes making.
