If y'all don't mind a question..
Does a 55g dome feel the same as a 45g with the optional spacebar spring? I've understood that the spring adds 10g of resistance, it feels so mushy to me I can't imagine people would prefer this over a 45g. I'm guessing the 55g dome provides more tactility, unlike the spring, but I don't want to buy a 55g board based on an assumption.

The spring is responsible for the mushiness. All of my 55g domes feel great but the spacebar with the spring installed doesn't feel nearly the same. I still have the spring installed because I like a heavier spacebar but it is noticeably more tactile without it.

Customization of HHKB is limited to dye keys and buy clacks, thus, after a couple of pages this thread tends to be repetitive.

Pexon, you should check out Hasu's controller. You can currently join a waiting list for it. They are fully programmable and he is making a bluetooth version too!  :)

Beautiful pic man, out of curiosity have you ever mentioned or posted on what your....gear? shooting area? looks like?

Thanks!  My photo setup is really primitive, haha.  I use a really old Canon point and shoot with a cheap desktop tripod, and a Ipad, laptop, and monitors with white (or a circular "spotlight" pattern) screens for lighting (all other lights are turned off).  Then I use some free photo edit software called PhotoScape to make some basic adjustments.  Nearly all pics are taken on my desk's black surface, kitchen floor, or an acrylic wrist rest.

It always looks like your shots are on a glass surface. Is that not the case?

Now I'm curious to see an in-progress shot...   ;)

I'd like to see what kind of shots you'd come up with with some better gear!

The glass-looking shots are on top of one of those Bird Electron acrylic wrist rests for the HHKB.  I realized that I don't like using wrist rests, so I never use it except for photos.  At least it's useful for something. :)

I would take a photo of my setup, but I'm busy using all hands when taking photos.  One hand holds the iPad overhead to shine light onto the subject, and the other is struggling with the damned focus and also keep the camera from tipping over.  My camera insists on focusing elsewhere, so I have to do this crazy dance where I hold my hand in front of the lens to reset the focus right before I take the shot.  It's all a terrible struggle, haha.  Usually there is profanity involved as well.  Maybe I should really buy a new camera...

Anyways, thanks guys. :)

I've seen the first half of this thread and every photos make me want to grab those neat keycaps :)

This is insane! Is it using that TEX trackpoint module? I want one

Very clean :)

That could almost be a render!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
