There are 50 public boards available, the first 10 will be allocated via FCFS to the first 10 people to fill out the google form. The remaining 40 boards will be raffled and drawn randomly from the remaining entrants. One entry per person please, duplicates will be deleted.

The form will be open for a minimum of 24 hours, more if required to make MOQ. Winners will be notified by email within 12 hours of the form closing.

You will be billed for shipping once the boards are ready for dispatch, shipping will be from the UK and is estimated at circa $60 to North America, I will get this as low as possible when the time comes.

Expected completion date:
August 2020
I would expect to offer delivery a maximum of 6 months after orders are placed, the standard practice of overestimating is in full effect here. I will keep everyone up to date with regular updates until the boards are delivered.

Shipping rules:
   Upon successful entry into this group buy, you will be expected to pay for your keyboard @ $560 excluding shipping, once your keyboard has passed QC and is ready to be shipped, you will receive a shipping invoice, you will have a chance to change your shipping address at this time should you need to.
   I will allow ample time to pay this shipping invoice, however, Failure to pay the invoice will result in your keyboard order being cancelled and your original payment being refunded minus any incurred costs.

Brass Base: Special Edition mini raffle details.

There will be a total of 5 public special editions available, these special edition cases will have a solid brass base with polished Stainless steel weight.
These will be allocated via a mini raffle. This is how that will work...

1) Enter GB and spec a board how you want it, assume you are not getting a Brass base.
2) Make Sure to check the box in the form that will enter you into the mini raffle (final question).
3) I will draw the mini raffle at some point, before placing the order with the manufacturer (date unconfirmed at this point)
4) If you are drawn in the raffle, I will contact you to A: make sure you still want it - no penalty for opting out at this point and B: To give you the option to change the top colour if you wish.
5) You will receive a separate invoice for the base $130 in addition to the standard GB cost.

Please DO NOT enter this GB if you plan on cancelling your order if you do not get the Brass Special Edtion. Only 5 people will get one, chances are you will not be one of the 5...

Last info about invoicing:

"I received a notification this morning that the manufacturer I’m using for the Virgo will not be opening until the 17th Feb at the earliest. With that in mind I’ve decided that Virgo GB raffle will go ahead as planned. The form will open on the 15th and winners will be selected.

However, due to the ongoing issues in China with Coronavirus, I will not be invoicing until after the Manufacturing plant reopens, there is no point in me holding your money for longer than needed. I have every faith that production will start in March as originally planned, however until they open back up I won’t know how long their backlog will be.

Current estimates for Invoicing is the week after the GB (22nd Feb) with a payment window of 7 further days. I’ll keep you updated as best I can..."

As Jae said, but also there's 59 names. Friends&Family are part of the list so having a list of over 50 likely means Flex accounted for them separately as to not influence your chances.

Virgo GB update.

• Orders are in with my CNC manufacturing partner, but as of right now, no aluminium has been cut but I have seen the CAM data so progress is being made. I believe they are catching up after the extended layoff, and should begin on the Virgo's soon.
• I've received a revision prototype for the PCB which I am happy with and final orders will be placed on Monday for all GB PCB's.
• Ancillary parts on order (Screws, Gaskets, JST's etc...) expected imminently.
• Meeting with the packaging supplier Friday next week to go over the designs, and hopefully approve and order a batch.

Expected GB fulfilment remains Early August 2020 (Conservative estimate).

Virgo GB update:

• All parts are now in production. The manufacturer has completed the first pass on the Aluminium parts and has started on the Brass.
• I've had fresh samples of the anodisation colours done and am very happy with the red and green, however, I will be asking them to redo the Aubergine (see below), to get closer to the Pantone requested.
• For those who watched the Prototype build stream with Taeha Types, you will remember a fault with the engraving on the weight, this has been resolved.
• the last meeting with the packaging supplier, I was not happy with the samples and have requested new, but they have now packed up work due to Covid-19, this will be picked up again when I can.

Expected Fulfilment remains Early August 2020, however much like the rest of the world, the UK has moved to tighter quarantine measures so please remain patient and I will keep updating here regularly.

Sorry for not updating for a couple of weeks, a mix of waiting on deliveries and sorting out packaging for the Virgo meant there was not a lot to update with.

I have received Ano samples from the manufacturer and approved the final colours and finish for the boards. All CNC work is close to completion, next up is an inspection and sending for Ano.

Carbon fibre and FR4 plates are in.


Things are still progressing, and despite C19, I'm still hoping to hit the estimated fulfilment.

June 3rd Update:


Parts are starting to come in, I currently have all the Black and Silver parts in hand, with the Green and red on a boat, some purples needed to be re-made due to the manufacturers internal QC finding fault in a number of parts, but these should follow in the coming weeks.


PCB's have been delayed due and "accident in the storage facility", whatever that means, but I'm assured I will see them in the next couple of weeks.





So far so good on my initial QC 

Please note: I'm planning on sending the shipping invoices out in July, for a hopeful delivery date in August. The original plan was to find the cheapest courier. However with the current state of international shipping, I will only provide an invoice for DHL, buyers are more than welcome to arrange there own delivery service, but I won't take responsibility for the shipping if that is the case.  Feel free to DM me or contact me on discord at any time if you want to discuss it. I will email buyers directly with this information too.

I have been regularly asked to produce a Numpad to match the Virgo, which I have, prototypes are due in a couple of weeks. Again I will email details to all Virgo purchasers if they are interested, but it is also open to anyone who wants on in an open GB to be held soon^tm I may push it a little more in the future, but for now, this paragraph will do. 





One final thought... I know I have 2 other IC I am currently involved in. Please do not worry, my focus right now is Virgo, and Virgo alone, I will not be running anything else, before the Virgo is fulfilled.

Sorry, all for being a little lax in updating this thread lately. With work kicking my ass and a whole bunch of boards to QC and pack, it's sometimes it's easier to update on discord than it is over here, even though this is the more important of the two.

I now have all parts in house and have been QC'ing every chance I get, I'm sending the first few orders out by the end of this week to test some logistics stuff my end, providing there are no hitches there, I will start sending shipping invoices right away, I expect to ship the vast majority of boards throughout August.

There are a small number of boards that require reworks, these are in production right now at the factory and I hope to receive shipment in August also, most of these will be Extras, but there may be a very small number (2/3) of GB board effected, I will let you know directly if this applies to your board.



One thing to note; due to the current turmoil that global shipping is in, I will only ship boards via DHL express, this may not be the cheapest option generally, but I have yet to experience an issue with them over this whole shutdown era we are in, with this in mind I have a business account with DHL which greatly reduces the shipping cost over the public pricing so I am still hopeful the cost will be acceptable to you all, alternatives would be for you to arrange your own pickup and delivery of your board, I will facilitate in any way I can, but I will not take responsibility for late/missing deliveries when using your own courier, alternatively at your request I can hold the boards for a while until things get back to a reasonable reliability postage wise. All this will be sorted out via email soon.

With regards to extras, I am afraid I have chosen not to sell anything that didn't pass the original QC process, which left me with around 8 boards total. These have almost all been sold (I have one development board remaining). I chose not to do a big song and dance public sale on 8 boards and disappoint too many people.
I am lining up a revision of the Virgo at the moment (alongside a few other projects) and plan on a sale this year if there is sufficient interest.

The Plate files are all available in several variations on my Discord server, I understand many people don't want to join a million discord channels, so I will aim to get the files loaded onto a file server *soon* and get some links in this thread.
With regards to extras, I am afraid I have chosen not to sell anything that didn't pass the original QC process, which left me with around 8 boards total. These have almost all been sold (I have one development board remaining). I chose not to do a big song and dance public sale on 8 boards and disappoint too many people.
I am lining up a revision of the Virgo at the moment (alongside a few other projects) and plan on a sale this year if there is sufficient interest.

It is getting close to the end of the year, do you have an update on when the R2 version of this board is going to be up for sale?  This is one of the most beloved boards I have seen.  I know there is more than enough interest for this item.
