I guess this is as good a place as any for an intro.

I'm charlie and I am new to the mechanical keyboard circuit (circus?). I currently have a saitek eclipse 2 and have been looking to upgrade to an non-gimmicky mech board. I do alot of resreach before buying anything, which led me repeatedly to gh. Had to register to view stuff, so I figure I might as well take the plunge and actually post something to the boards.

Anyways, hello gh!

That's how I got into mechanical keyboards too, I guess when it comes to it everybody's got a similar story. Welcome!  :)

Hello!

Long time lurker of GH, used the info I found here to purchase my first mechanical keyboard over a year ago. I made the switch because I found out the hard way that the Microsoft and Logitech "Ergonomic" keyboards aren't in fact that good for repetitive stress, just positioning issues. Now I can't type on a membrane board for long without just becoming annoyed ;) I just recruited my father to the dark side as well, he has a full size Leopold w/ browns.

I'm looking to start expanding my collection and learn. Hopefully the pocketbook wont hurt too much... (yeah, right!)

Hello Geekhack! here's what I have...

Well I've only been around about a week, but I found this section and just posted my Hello own thread in the new members section  :)

Surprisingly I find that you & I are nearly neighbors geographically (saw this when reading further down the new member thread)

So, Hello Buzz, come over for a cup of sugar whenever you need too!  ;)

Among all the detecting activities, gold detecting is the most interesting one. It can not only relax both our mind and body, but also give us a big fortune if we are lucky enough. Next time when you feel bored, you can pick up a gold detector and have a try.

Hi just introducing myself. I'm new to the forums but have been into keyboards for the past half year now. It all started when I saw a "silent" mechanical keyboard for sale on thinkgeek and I was like wtf is a mechanical and it all went downhill from there.

I was ECSTATIC when I found an old IBM Model M in my mom's office. That was my first mechanical. Then I bought a Noppoo choc mini mx blue, and finally a WASD custom mx blue. Now I'm ready for the topre tier. Thinking of getting a Realforce 87U and the Realforce numpad. This forum helped me get most of my answers, but I've never posted until now.

I love this forum, but I don't know if I'm going to stay after getting my topres cuz I don't know where I'd go from there in terms of keyboards. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I just bought my first mechanical keyboard (Ducky 9087G2 Pro) a few days ago after seeing my friends *cough* Blackwidow *cough*. He inspired me to one-up him on a good keyboard for dat dere gaymen. Plus, I work out a lot so the mechanical keys should give me a good finger and forearm workout, right? Haha. I look forward to secretly having a hobby with keyboards... because I already have one.

Hi all!

I got my first mechanical keyboard last year and registered for the site.  Recently had to use my husband's computer for a few minutes and came away with a renewed appreciation for my keyboard.  So I'm just now getting around to wanting to post here and really looking into getting keycaps for my keyboard to change it up some, make it more suited to me.  Thinking about getting a TKL for gaming use.  Haven't quite reached that point yet but I'm looking, getting ideas.
Glad to be here.

There I was, buying an HHKB a few months back, thinking to myself "It's worth it in the long run, it's your professional tool." Now I am genuinely scared at how much I may end up spending!

Now, first major annoyance... ABS shiny space bar already. Why oh why isn't it PBT???

Right, where do I get these clacks again...
Don't just stare at it ...

Greetings.

I've got a DSI left handed keyboard (numpad and arrows on left side).
I would like to put on a few custom keycaps, and I've heard good things about the for sale section here.

So I figured I'd join up.
