Update Fequency, Terms & Conditions
We will update you on GB progress, manufacturing and shipping details at minium once every 2 weeks, or when important information becomes available.
You can expect to recieve your items before the advertised time, however uncontrollable circumstances may cause this time frame to be extended.
We aim to provide the highest quality Keyboards to our users. Our QA process should pick up any imperfections, however if a sub-par keyboard does manage to reach you, imperfections will be evaluated based on their location and size. The outcome of this evaluation may result in a full/partial replacement, full/partial refund or return depending on the severity of the imperfection.
Specific Pantone Colours and Switch Plate .stp files will be released after the GB.

We decided not to persue this idea. It would have required re-prototyping both the case and PCB, we were to far along in the process to go back that far.

Been looking for a nice Numpad for a while and this one looks very appealing.
The price tag sounds pretty hefty, but if the quality is there I could justify it.

-Are the available colors not listed? Both base colors and extra top color?
-Will the knob work for volume control in macOS? (heard from other macropads that their volume knob didn't work in the latest Mac Os releases)
-Is there any way to make it wireless? I like my coiled cable for my keyboards, but don't really want another cable.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the build streams!

I realise that the colour options isn't super obvious, I will update the GB thread:
Base colors: Blue, White, Dark Grey
Top Colors: Blue, White, Dark Grey, Gold

The PCB will come with the most revent version of QMK installed. If the volume issue is not fixed by the delivery date, the current fix for volume control in Mac OS is quite easy and can be found here https://andywarburton.co.uk/fix-mac-osx-volume-keys-not-working-with-via-qmk/

The PCB is not bluetooth compatible.

I hope this answers all of your questions  :D

Thanks for the info !

The 50$ extra Hotswap PCB, is it because it comes with the encoder pre-soldered also?

A bit sad about the top-color options, as the ones I would have liked the most are missing  (maroon/burgundy, a nice green, and like a copper or rose gold)

But I'll try to join for one still.

To upgrade the included PCB to hotswap is $20. To purchase an extra hotswap PCB is $50 and yes, it will include the encoder pre-soldered as well :)

Are these prototypes in Bullet and Monochrome? The photos make it look slightly blue but I'm more than 100% happy to have that color if that's the way the lighting affects it.
If you could provide annotations as to what colorway the prototypes are in that would be nice>

Yes, the prototypes are in bullet and monochrome :) The color options are the same as my previous board the Raindrop 60%, so will post some photos of the colors up close and un-edited :) Also stay posted for prototype photos and videos from our content creators Taeha Types, ByteSizedSeamus & Manoli Visuals, they will be much better at accuratly capturing the true look of the board than I am :D

Alright thanks.
Will we be able to mix and match base and top color, or will it automatically come with a matching base and top color? (and thus forced into an extra top color)

Still hoping some extra top colors could be available. Really think a copper or nice rose gold could have worked well.

No worries,
You will be able to choose between either a top color of gold or the same color as the base
E.g Blue base and top OR Blue base and Gold top

All of the top colors will also be available to purchase individually.
E.g if you want a blue base with a white top, you will need to buy a base kit and an extra top. I hope this clears things up :)

I almost fell in love. That pricetag doe!! It's literally the price of an ano keeb. And with no bells and whistles? No bluetooth, no speakers, no OLED, no nada. Well there is a $1 EC11 rotary encoder. Really is a beautiful itsy bitsy tiny board. And I try to grab every macro/numpad I come across. This one, however is a hard pill bebe.

Hi, thankyou for the kind words, we are glad you love the design :D I understand your concerns. The "MACRO-1" is quite a large macro pad, the case weights in at ~700g, compare this to our "Raindrop 60%" weighing in at ~950g. The manufacturing cost of low quantity production items lays mostly outside the actual material cost, as such size isn't a huge factor in cost. This alongside the falling USD and sky rocketing raw material and electrical component costs is really hurting the custom keeb scene at the moment. You can see more discussion about this on the IC https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=110130.msg2990781#msg2990781

We did poll this to the community, and with over 1000 responses, the overwhelming majority viewed the price point as fair. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask :)

We had a similar query during the IC. To us, it felt more natural and ergonomic to have the knob on the left and control the encoder with your index and thumb whilst supporting your hand with your pinky and ring finger on the sides of the case. Looking at other projects, I would say at a rough estimate, 70% of macropads have followed this same logic. The feedback that we received from the testers is that the encoder feels comfortable and natural in its current position :)

Nice. Think I’m too aesthetically conservative to go for only the gold top. Maybe I should just order an extra... Certainly tempted. But the $$$...

Yes it is the grey color :) the true color is better represented in the first comment on this thread. The sheen and lighting effected the way the MACRO-1 prototype photos came out.
