That ISO Enter key needs to be adjusted. All other >1U keys have a bar, and both numpad+ and numpad Enter have a vertical one. Why does the ISO Enter have a simple dot?

April Fools Day joke, meme set, call it whatever but I really like it! If this becomes reality I'm so down for a set! The only question I got is, isn't this set gonna require pretty much all custom molds for the legends or does GMK actually have molds with dots & oblongs already?
11 new molds are required.
The iso enter shouldn't just have a dot onto it but rather a line (like the 2u numpad keys) ;)

The problem is that when these white dots - large, bright and homogeneous colors - are clustered together, they look very strong & can be a bit distracting. You have nice colorful dots on the modifier, but the white alpha dots are simply too strong IMO.
Unfortunately I'm not really familiar with GMK color codes, but anything close to grey or light grey would do. And perhaps better make the dots smaller?

There, a quick and dirty attempt to show my point about the difference between bright white vs something darker or greyish (I copied your existing grey color from the function keys). You can then put more colors on the backspace, tab, caps keys etc. Unfortunately I'm quite occupied thus unable to create the smaller dots example :p
My 2 cents :)

I agree with others saying that the alpha dots could possibly do with being smaller or not quite such a bright white.
I also think that the custom dark navy colour is perfect, and that the solution you've chosen for the iso enter is perfect, anything else would look a little weird, in my opinion.

The more I look at the nomad kit, the more I think it could be absorbed into the base kit by adding on to the latter the former's few non-1U key it has, then let the buyers complete what might be lacking with single color kits (YMMV; WDIKAA).

Ortho layouts look less exciting with this, could be solved by using colored dots throughout the alphas, but I mainly see a lack of those on R3.

I tried but somehow i think 4 white dots in the home row looks better. Users can then choose between using 2 or 4 white dots. Shouldn't be too hard as it requires only 4 more additional keys BUT again I'm not a GMK expert.

I like the fact that people are giving up ideas and try to improve the design of the set :thumb: However, I already made my decision and will keep the alphas white (or light gray, will have to check on my GMK colors ring) because I want the set to have contrast and distinctive alphas and modifiers ;)

I would love it if you added a 1.25u R3 key into the base kit. That's the only key needed for most 40s boards (especially when you have a set like this with no legends anyway).
Perhaps the "single color kits" I suggested earlier in the thread would be ideal for this. Instead of only twelve 1U keys, they could also come with four 1.25U keys (one per row) and four 1.5U keys (ditto).

I think these are alternate homing keys (non-bars). Though, I do agree there are a lot of 1u colors in other rows in the base kit.

On the first page it mentions the vendors. For the US it is Novelkeys. I agree with you in that Drop would be nice because you get nice MOQ tier drops that a lot of small vendors lack, at least in my experience I feel like I get a better experience with Drop when it comes to the price breakups and goals. So say, you offer this ergodox set as you have stated, I am gonna buy the base kit for my TKL, anything else needed for my 60%, the 40/50/ortho kit for said layouts and the ergodox kit for my ergodox/boardwalk. I'll cover all my layouts and have plenty of unnecessary dupes at the same time.

It's just .... frustrating ultimately because in the end I'll definitely bail on a layout I'll like to cover but won't purchase said kit because I don't want to have nor spend what it takes to house another complete set of alphas or something.

You're not alone but we're definitely the minority. I generally need both the base kit and ortho kit to get coverage on my layout:

I think the ergo kit would look better if the two grey 1.5u mods were not back-to-back. I understand that the color pattern is copying the base kit, but I think it feels odd here. Perhaps change one of those grey colors for orange or sky blue?

About the transparent dot keycap, the centered dot sits right above the stem which is the worst position for backlighting.didn‘t think about that - but makes sense :))

Space keys are important to me too. The ergo kit only has 1x2u R4C key. I'm looking for 4x1u R4C keys, so will probably have to buy a couple nomad kits with the way things are currently structured.
If this was N9, then I would be able to use the massive amount of N9 1u R4C keys I purchased via scud80's recent GMK blanks GB... :)

Nomad kit is basically for all the weird layout below 60% :thumb:
The kit is needed if you have a 40% staggered keyboard.

They went live on candykeys around 19:00 CET (GMT+2:00) and I got my base kit :)
EDIT: Is there any sort of general timeline on the group buy? When it'll be over, how long manufacturing should take, and finally when we can expect to begin seeing shipments go out? Just asking about like general months, not specific days.
